Yep. I played with efans on my Jeeps a lot. I'm back to clutch fans now because I needed to get rid of stuff that causes worries. Like if the fan fails, you are down.

The best setup I had was with a controller from
www.dccontrol.com that will run the fan at least 10% all the time. That took care of the engine bay baking. I also did hood vents.

The other problem was when the big efan kicked on I got a system voltage sag and EFI doesn't like that. Two things cured that. Big wire from the battery to the efan and keeping those runs as short as possible. A long run will cause a nasty sag. And the controller slowly ramped the fan up eliminating full draw at efan startup.
