I'll check at the parts store for better tubing, but the issue now is finding an adapter to fit the oil pump. I pulled the pressure switch out of the spare pump I have (1973) and I need to figure out the adapters for it. Just brought home the radiator, looks nice, hope it fits! Getting tires tomorrow then I will take pics. The weather has been crappy this week.

Ok, so the day started with me running errands to include getting tires mounted, then doing other errands with the family. Did not get a real start till 1pm. Motor mounts were a royal PITA. The old ones were the three stud style, with two different size studs. The "new" motor mounts only have 2 studs that are the biggest size. Sooooooo, I had to drill out the frame mounts to 1/2 inch. Then a friend showed up and we finished the mounts, secured with stainless hardware and lock washers. Then the fuel pump fought it's way off the block. Then the fuel line. New thermostat and housing was installed, plus the new water pump. So far so good. Till I tried to mount the "new-fits-my-truck-like-the-old-one-did" radiator and no go. It was A: too narrow. B: The mounting flanges we on the wrong side of said radiator. Soooooooo, after 28 bucks worth of hardware from Lowes, and a shorter upper hose, the radiator is in. It is too difficult to explain how we did it, but I'll post pics tomorrow of the "engineering" we did. Now, this "new" radiator has these plastic drain fittings and it was leaking with just cold water in it, smoked it down and it still weeped a bit till the water got hot. I have a brass drain cock to replace it and will get a brass plug for the top port. I'll post pics tomorrow, since this fiasco took till dark, but the beast runs again. Tomorrow it gets moved into the garage for brakes and all the other stuff that needs to be done. That will be fun since it has no brakes. LOL.

Not here in Georgia. Some can barely drive a shopping cart, let alone a car. The newest trend locally is to drive with your high beams on ALL THE TIME and ignore all the other people flashing you to turn them off.

New water pump.
Rear brakes are done. It has emergency brakes now and I terrorized the neighborhood for a few minutes. Lessons learned: 1st gear is not syncroed. Put more gas in the "gas tank" (the grape juice bottle). Make sure all loose bolts are in a can, not dropping out onto the road through the hole in the floor. Had to order new front wheel cylinders, the ones I ordered were wrong, will not fit hoses. Also ordered a 180f thermostat, the 195f waits a long time to pop open and the gauge goes into the higher part of the range. Re-wired the battery cables, put a new starter relay in, new turn signal flashers, new breather. Replaced the plastic plugs in the radiator. Put brass in. Had to use the 42 year old drain cock since the brand new POS Chinese one broke before I could do anything with it. Still have a long way to go.

Jealous that you have power brakes. This truck is awesome! I want a late 60's-early 70's truck so bad! Is that an A833 4speed? You should take pics of the full truck with the new wheels/tires.

I'll take more pics of it and progress, and I will have pics of it with the new wheels and tires on it. The transmission is an A250 3-speed, non-syncro 1st.

Finishing up the brake lines today, and changing some springs in the rear brakes. Shocks are halfway done. Pics later today.

No pics. I'm exhausted. Roughed in the fuel cell, ran the new 3/8 steel fuel line, swapped out all the wheels, roughed in the new muffler/hangars. Next weekend I plan on swapping the exhaust manifold out with a good one and start finishing up all the large stuff. Electrical stuff will follow that, got to wire in the new tail lights, fuel sender, tach, oil pressure gauge, install the new headlights, finish the windshield washer tank (electric) and work out the "bugs" with the reverse lights and dash lights.
Shower time.

Fell at work yesterday, backwards into a hole on the plane and landed on my co-worker's boot right at the top of my plumber's crack/tail bone, hurts like hell and still sore today. :oops: :(
Now, got the manifold swap done, brakes bled, lights working (except the reverse lights, still working those). Having issues with the shifting mechanism that was put in, need to trim some more sheetmetal and adjust everything better. Going to finish the fuel cell tomorrow, run the sending wire, add grounds to the truck and continue working on all the other items that need to be addressed before it can go farther. I did have it up to 35mph up the street though...... :shock:

Looks like I'm going to have to replace the brake booster as well, it stalls the engine when I press the brakes. Joy.
