I have been using some Purolator Gold one. I am a little worried now. I used to use Fram, but after getting a few that had bad threads, I stopped.
WIX is nice. I don't think anyone near me has Wix on hand.
My father use to use them. I think they are different than a paper filter, but I may be wrong?
Yes wix uses an enhanced glass media filter and not a conventional paper element... They also use silicone anti-drain back valves, steel media end caps, coil spring not a conventional "butterfly" spring, as well as a high flow center core... I work at a small mom and pop part store so I have alot of time on my hands to study the products we sell lol... I guess its not a bad thing, its good education and I love being able to share the knowledge

It has definately opened my eyes to the quality control (or lack of) in the aftermarket industry. Even names that once had an amazing reputation may as well be trash right out of the box... Even when you pay extra to feel like your getting better parts, it may not always be the case... My best suggestion is research, and never let yourself fall for sales gimmicks... Look for real world information from real people who have used various products and see what kind of feedback they get...

The vast majority of Wix filters are paper. Look at the Wix website and you see that 51515 is paper and 51515xp has the synthetic media. Then go look at the prices.

The standard line of filters is "glas-enhanced" cellulos media.... The XP filters have a wire backed full-sythetic media... And yes I definately know the price difference lol.
