THAT looks like a good running slant 6. Now then... where is the vid of the Harbor Freight compression gauge exploding? Hopefully you weren't injured when it blew??? How do the folks in China build or fix anything with quality tools like that? |

I dont have a video but i got some pics. But im still trying to figure out how to post em here without putting them online somewhere else first. I dont like using "dropbox" or "flicker" from my phone. Call me paranoid but I never like putting my info out in the clouds where i cant get them without internet....Now then... where is the vid of the Harbor Freight compression gauge exploding? Hopefully you weren't injured when it blew??? How do the folks in China build or fix anything with quality tools like that? If you know of a way to post other wise I would like to know..... |

Nice work. Congratulations. I would put your cold fast idle at around 1300, not over 2k, but that's just me. |

It is set at 1500 but when the bi metal spring in the choke gets to temp it opens the choke plate but doesn't kick the fast idle cam off. This causes the idle to go to 2000. I haven't tried to fix it yet.... |

Just keep an eye on the valve adjustments over the next few months. The reason is that the exhausts all being tight could be due to the valves wearing into the seats excessively. That would not be good and an indication of seat failure. I would run it a few hundred miles, re-check the valve adjustments, do it again after another 500 miles, and so forth, 'til I was confident they were not closing up any more. The normal wear is for them to open up, like your intakes sound like they did. |
