I appreciate everyone coming. We had 10 cars each day. I think we all had a good time. Lots of bench racing especially during the rain break. We were able to run a lot of extra time runs each day so I think we all got our fill of making passes to get dialed in. We only had one car to break all weekend. Jacks Duster lost oil pressure Saturday in the second round, he says he has a backup motor ready go in for Crossville. Special thanks to Phil and Pat for being so accommodating to our group. None better in my 20 years of going to race tracks. Thanks again to Tim Harrold for his sponsosrship 15 consecutive years. Congrats to Greg he ran very well, drove well and deserved his victories. I was also happy to lower my C/A Record I set last year. Seymour I will get the paperwork to you soon. Rob I will post all the pairing results right away.

Thanks Ron

Just got home and unloaded. Thanks to all of our "friends" in our group. We have a great bunch of people who like to eat, talk & sometimes even race together.

Congrats to all the racers, especially Greg who ran great all weekend. I must have run 15 passes! The owners really treat us well and are great folks!

Thanks to Jack and everyone else for helping me get the tow truck glued back together. I lost 2 1/2 or 3 quarts of oil on the way down! I did the Red Green bubble gum and duct tape fix on it and it ran home and didn't leak hardly any oil.

Rick

Will post some pictures of the winners soon

Thanks to Ron and Kay and all the Slant 6 racers for a Wonderful Weekend in Wilkesboro! Big thanks to Tim Harrold at Empire Chrysler Dodge Jeep for sponsoring our race and hosting the great car show.

Phil and Pat (new track owners) and the crew at the WRP were amazing. I have NEVER seen a drag strip cleaned of big puddles and standing, soaking water mostly with squeegees and push brooms with only two small drag along air dryers. Amazing. Only took 1 - 1.5 hrs after a 45 min downpour. Big props to the owners (who were also out drying the track) and the whole crew.

I think I put 25 passes on the car and was happy with the results. Starting to get the lights more consistent. Nice to spend lots of time racing and visiting. Nice 5-6 miles hike above R&K's place too on Friday - refreshing.

I headed south on Sunday morning to Hendersonville, NC to see my aunt and uncle and had a rear axle issue (NOISE) halfway there. Luckily I was able to drive it home this morning with some babying and additional noise, but no failure. See "Trans and Axle" thread for details. Another 600 mi and a drag weekend on the ol' blue Dart...

Slant on,

Lou

I had a great time this weekend! Couldn't win a round to save my life but that allowed me to video the rest of the racing action  Here is a link to a video of the racing and some pictures from the event too.

Special thanks to Ron and Kay for putting everything together! It was a great time and the track and staff made it even better.

Now to get my junk back on the road and start winning some rounds.
