It looks like they're having a show and swap meet as well as the races..... The flyer from last year's event talks about a car show and swap meet too, not sure if that's an annual thing or not. The only thing I see about Clay City in the Event Calendar is from last years event..... But it's still a little over 2 months away too. I'd definitely be interested in going, it would be nice to meet some of you guys! |

from the photos,, it looks like that imitation vinyl top paint really held up. is it that good in real life? Is it really like bed liner paint? and great job on the fast turn around time on getting the Dude back on the road |

Sweet truck!!! Your turnaround time is amazing, as well. Way to go! I love the bit about the corvette at the show, too. The sheetmetal guy Greg referred to can be found here: http://www.exlinecustomauto.com/custom-services.html He does top notch stuff, and is a stand up guy to boot. Not that it matters for anything other than originality, but these trucks only came with top loader 4spds or automatics. However, that three speed like you have (or an 833 4spd) is sure a nice swap! I've put the 833 overdrive 4spd in a couple of 68 D100s, and loved it. Great truck, and I like the direction you went with it as well. Have fun! |

I still have it laying on the work bench, but it had a chewed up first gear and a broken syncro. I found the "clean" trans locally on craigslist for $100. I needed a trans quick and, believe it or not, that new 3 speed was exactly the same in every dimension as the original A250, same overall length, trans mount location, speedo location, tail shaft length, etc. I didn't need to change or modify a single thing for the new one to go in, I was amazed! Do you have any idea what model trans the "clean" one is? |

The black on the roof was completely gone when I got the truck, I assume the sun has baked it off over the years. There's pics at the beginning of the thread with it bare orange.is it that good in real life? Is it really like bed liner paint? and great job on the fast turn around time on getting the Dude back on the road I wanted it black again, that's how it's supposed to be and I think it looks better, so I masked everything off and rattle canned it flat black. I figure that after some sun and rain, it will blend in and look like the stripes and wheels do. |

Great job on the truck...just a little CLR and scrubbing and you might me amazed how it looks. I've seen used on surface rust and the residual rust and it's pretty amazing. http://www.walmart.com/ip/CLR-BATHROOM-KITCH/15716789 |
