This is very interesting stuff! Especially since my 76 D100 came without a catalytic converter or charcoal cannister. The charcoal cannister was optional according to the factory advertising literature I have found.

There are light duty trucks and heavy duty trucks, the break point is GVW over 6000 lbs. Over 6000 lbs classed heavy duty. different emission standard.http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62251

Very interesting. My truck is a short wheelbase with a slant six, but it is very stiffly sprung. I would be surprised if it was rated at over 6,000 GVW, but I guess it is possible.

Starting 1977 on drivers door was a metal data plate with that info, if not there look at pillar above door latch, should be some info there. My truck stuff only cover,s 77 and 78. VIN 4th digit A -6000 or less B-6001 to 10,000 Gvw.

Gas tank open neck no unleaded nozzle restriction ? No cat burn leaded fuel. Egr valve there or block off plate. Air cleaner heat door?

Open neck on the fill pipe, although I swapped to a different bed with a different fill pipe. No cat. I think it DID have an EGR, but I swapped to a Super Six intake and can't recall if the original one barrel intake had the EGR provision. The head is not original so the intake might not have been original anyway. The stock air cleaner was not present when I bought it, but it doesn't have the little air heater assembly bolted to the exhaust manifold. t is a truck from sunny dry Oregon. I think it was a farm truck.

Image The float specs for 1974 might be wrong should be 3/64. All float specs were plus or minus 1/32.
