This was from the latest post on the old board. It did something weird where it turned the whole page into a clickable link, but I was able to do a ctl+a to highlight then copy the whole page, paste it in a notepad, then copy what I needed.

Here are the latest points with Knoxville and Woodburn. I also added 20 record points for Charlie Schmid re-setting the C/Nitrous record at Wilkesboro.

Rusty Heisten towed to Knoxville all the way from the Team Green Skunkworks in Carthage, MO. Mark Goodman sent me a photo of their goals for the Knoxville race a day or so before Rusty headed East. He wanted to re-set a record (or two Wink ) and at the bottom it said "Beat Hamby!!" Laughing Congratulations on both counts Rusty. You're now 2nd in points too!

I keep the points on an Excel spreadsheet and I have just been copying it to a Word document to add the periods to get it to look right on the Forum. THAT has been a real pain, so if I can put it into a table and post the table that would be much better. I'll start fiddling with that. Thanks.

Nice work Rob! I figured that might be too much of a pain! Maybe you could make yourself a template on your computer to help. Looks like you've got the hang of it. I wish there was a tool to help, but I couldn't find anything for this version of the board. I am wondering if you could make the table in Word, then save as an HTML file. Then open the HTML file with Notepad and copy/paste that code into the forum message. It may partly depend on what code Word ads, since the board only supports TABLE, TR & TD.

I set the Delimiter to comma and the Header Rows to 1, then entered
the data separated by commas in the left box, like this:

When you click Get BB Table, you get the code in the right side box.
Click on Select Your Code, then copy (CRTL-C) & paste (CRTL-V) into your post. You get this:

The last line is just a plug for his site.
If you want to add colors (like in your previous post), you should be able to do that too.
All that blank space between your text and the table must be because all of the tags are on a separate line. When I did that in my testing, as soon as I previewed, all the carriage returns were taken out, but on yours, they stay in. Curious...

I was actually surprised that you were able to use the table so quickly. In light of that I decided maybe you could use that online resource. Nice going!

I did use the online resource. It made it really easy to simply copy the data from Excel to Word and insert the commas, then copy it into the tool online and straight to the Forum.

SO much easier! Thanks again!

Rusty had 70 points and a perfect 1.000 Index for winning 6 out of 6 races.

I like this new way of doing things you just showed me much better. I always dreaded going through and adding all those periods to make things line up on the forum... :roll: :lol:

I just had a big scare. :shock:

I was copying a worksheet to a CSV file to try it out... It asked the usual questions about different versions, loss of data, blah blah blah... "are you sure you wanna do this...?"

I mistakenly saved my entire gargantuan Excel spreadsheet with 20 years of racing data as a one page workbook with no formulas, etc... :shock:

I had the same file in another folder, so I slowly and gently re-saved the file and slid back away from the keyboard... :lol:

I guess I can only take so much learnin' in one day... :roll: :mrgreen:

The fix on that first post looks good. I need to add back in the name column. I just had periods going all the way to Points because I figured Names was self explanatory. Not so much with a table though.

Thanks for fiddling with it. I can go back through and do the fixes (if you give me a couple more pointers... :D )
