Greg,
Determining if the oil pump is or is not the source of the problem would be an appropriate action.
Check with the pump manufacturer, they may have a Tech Line. Company Techs can be great help
as they have experience that may relate to your issue.
The pump supplier may also have a bench test, where they can test your pump. I would pursue verifying the pump in its current condition prior to making changes.
If out of warranty you may pay a fee for the bench test, but you would have good information on the fitness of the pump.

And did some internet searching of external oil pumps and oil flow problems, found several postings that mentioned if there are steel braided flex hose on the suction side, the flex hose must have a spiral wound spring on the inside as the hose’s internal membrane will weaken and collapse over time.

I like the inlet hose collapse idea. Seems a restriction in the system would be a likely culprit.

Thanks for the Brainstorming session John, Lou, Rick,

I Have spare braided -10 AN hose from when I did the External Install originally - so I can try that, additionally I ordered 4' of -10AN Stainless steel spring that is made for bends and non suction applications so that they don't collapse. That should be here today or tomorrow.

I can then observe and report.

Is -10 big enough on the suction side?

Might also be a pinhole air leak on suction side.

I would Think so. -10AN is 5/8" ID and bigger than the pickup tube it's pulling through.

Also worked well from 2014-2017 with Hundreds of 11 Second Blasts.

Rick, Big D, Rob, Sandy, Lou, Ed, Charrlie, John... problem is solved. It was the 2 feet of -10AN hose that had an internal delamination on the suction side. So that must mean my clearances and internals etc are in good shape and not trashed.

I guess was able to improve the pickup by having it still interfere with the bottom of the pan as well as upening up the suction screen area from stock as well as have it 1/4" off the pan floor.. which many other wet sump systems use anyway.

So now I have 55# -60#oil pressure from idle up to over 5000 rpm.
I replaced the section of collapsed hose and put the inner spring inside as well to prevent this from happening again.

Now that the oil problem is solved I can hit the tnt and see if the new trigger wheel I bought will solve my trigger wheel / crank sensor issue.

How in the world did you see the internal hose problem?

Yes

Took the hose off.. took the ends off and tried to put the spring in it... spring would not go all the way through the old hose.. also it was at the end.. you could see the blockages too when the hose ends were removed.
