I agree, about the ASE certifications being a joke. I was a ASE master auto tech, and had two heavy truck certs. I only have one cert still currant, and that will expire soon. I will never give them another cent either until they modify the system. It was very difficult staying compettent, in just the auto areas. I don't see how these techs do it, with there master auto, master truck, engine block specialest, cylinder head specialest. They have patches down both arms, and look like a 30 year master chief. Bull feathers.
