Post subject: | Crankshaft weight ? |
Brent, The stock crankshafts I have used in the past have weighed in between 74 to 77 pounds. Do the good old boys at Crower have some kind of a target weight ? Just wondering ?? Dave M |

Team Green, I understand that you have been working with Crower for awhile in regards to setting up a deal with them, however it must be noted that their deal is not as good a the one I have worked out with Mickey Thompson. For one and most important of all is the simple fact that the cranks that we will be machining are made of 4550 Billet steel. This material is over twice as strong as 4340. And Mickey told me himself that he will personally guarentee every one of his cranks to 2,700 horsepower. So when we are talking over twice as strong for half the price, theres simply no way that Crower can even compare. Again I understand that you have been working with them for awhile, and I mean no harm, but they simply cannot provide us with what we need for a price that us slant six racers can contend with. Doc, my e-mail system on the ship is experiencing major problems, so I am currently writing this in London, England. I will be able to call you if need be around Oct 17th or 18th. And again, Mickey said that we are looking at around 12 pounds lighter than stock. Thanks guys. |

Jason, We have used Crower components in the past and they received a deposit from us on 9/26/03 for the crank project. We here at Team Green have always kind of done our own thing, so good luck on your project and hope you don't get shafted. |

Ok gentlemen, it has been brought to my attention that I have made a mistake. I didn't make it clear that I was working with Mickey Thompson JUNIOR. He is the person that took over the company after his father was murdered. I apoligize for any mix up. I figured it was understood. I am aware that with that misunderstanding it sent up a few red flags through out the slant six racing community. I have only been racing for about 4 years now, I am a firm beleiver that if it seems to good to be true, then it sometimes is. Well guys, I am serious. If you have any doubts, please call me and I will do what I can to dispose of any nonsense. 904-534-5480. |

Sorry Tom, I'm just goofing around, if you saw the whole crank, you'd know it's for a BB Mopar. Should have put one of the funny faces with the post. ![]() M/T had a large product line at one time, most remember M/T cast valve covers. I didn't know M/T made any cranks in the last 30 years. I also though the M/T line had been sold to one of the large performance parts suppliers years ago. Jason, is MT Jr doing cranks on his own and not affiliated with the old M/T Ind or is this a resurected line? Sounds like you have a good deal going but it's a little more than what I want to do at this time, stock will work for me. Cecil |

Serious horsepower slant racers the time is near. Crower is about ready to make some crankshafts. Five racers have ordered and you can go direct to Crower to place an order. The project name is 66 Drive-In and the reason it has that name is because we were the first to send the money. We get nothing out of this other than knowing that we should have this crankshaft problem fixed. |
