One cool spring day on the Dragon I saw a D type Jaguar at speed. Most likely a replica, but who cares, it looked awesome. You never know what will show up there. |

Sweet Dart pics, thanks. What year did you have it at Barber? My peeps and I might have been LeMons racing our 64 Valiant or Dart there... Lou |

Yep, I think Lou / Brian / Rob know that one well. Maybe that is Jason Ernst's car... Greg |

Quote: When I lived in the Midwest, I was always driving the back roads looking for a flat, straight stretch of secluded pavement to do 1/4 mile or wide open testing.
I have no idea what you're talking about, no sir. Wait a minute, you spent time "looking for" flat and straight? Seriously? My gosh, when I lived there, the best description I ever heard was "it's so flat you can watch your dog run away for 3 days." Corner carving has always seemed interesting in theory... friends have pointed out that an afternoon of AutoX keeps the excitement up a lot more effectively than a few sporadic 1/4 mile passes... but I haven't been bitten by that bug. Who knows, maybe some day I'll change my devotion about running P265 tires on a daily driver, and see what all the excitement is about at the other church... it could happen. - Erik |

Wisconsin and NE Iowa are hilly. It is not hard to find places, but if you want 1-2 miles of flat+straight with no surprise driveways, etc, that is a bit harder. If you are in much IL or IN or western IA or... you are good. Now living in the mountains of VA, I think of WI as being a lot like this, but everything is shorter. Corner carving is pretty darn fun. I started that on roads in WI, took it to tracks in Lalaland (traffic), and continue on roads and tracks in NC and VA. Lou |
