Questions:

1) Price for steel vs Aluminum
2) Price breakdown for units sold
3) When can they start and when will they ship?
4) Will they want one made and verified before they make the rest of them? I will be the guinea pig.
5) Can they make a18 spline plate for this setup?
6) can they make just a pressure plate and single disc setup?
7) Will this be part of their catalog for future buyers?

What bellhousing is being used to check the clearance? I understand that some have less space than others. I'm specifically concerned about the 4-speed-only 1965 housing.

I am also using a 4 speed as well, but to open up the market, an aluminum 3 speed variety is being shipped to Ram since it is lighter to ship but also likely the tighter dimensionally of the two. If we can’t get the 3’speed housing to work, we will try the 4 speed. If anyone has both of these, please check the 4 speed bell flare and see if it is the same or larger than the 3 speed. The only bell I have is a steel 4 speed 1964 and it is bolted into my car presently. We don’t want to find out later there is a difference in the wrong direction. If anyone can 3D scan both, that would be a huge help!

a903 handling smoky burnouts and needing a dual disc clutch.. That's Laughable.

I have many 3 speed Bells and also the Cast Iron 4 Speed Bell as well.

No way to 3dScan them unless I try to pull some sort of favor from a shop with a faro Arm..

I may try them with a 3d scanner app on my phone and I can send you the Files.

Yes I am also interested, but am rather confused of what is being proposed here, with all the requests and all.

Seems to me most group buys require a compromise, and a sufficient quantity of confirmed orders, which is why a compromise is needed. Less then 10 won't cut it unless price is not a priority and that doesn't fit the slant six crowd.

It sounds pretty awesome! I'd love to jump in on it , but its a tough year for me. But definitely hope they offer a flywheel with clutch options, mine has 285,000 miles. Last time I changed the clutch (back around 200k) it was recommended by the machinist that it be replaced if i ever change the clutch again.

My first driver car was a 65 Dart 270 4 door with a 3 on the tree. It never died. Everything was worn out- door latches, hinges, wiper arm bushings; a real rattletrap. About 320k, original everything on the engine. Sad day when she went away when I got a 65 Fury I with a slant. My car now is a 64 Dart GT.

High confidence that with the OEM flywheel and Bell on hand and with their experience, there shouldn’t be any issues. 5) Can they make a18 spline plate for this setup? AndyZ I agree that if the 3-speed bell works then everything else is likely to fit, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to fit the dual-disc in a car with an A903 trans as anything that trans can handle should also be easily handled by a single disc clutch.

Probably better mileage with an aluminum flywheel? The clutch won’t be the weak link in that drivetrain.

Ram has to make a new flywheel to fit the Force 9.5 clutch system to the /6. Every other part of the system is already stocked by Ram. Ram can put just about any clutch disc center in the Force 9.5" discs to accommodate transmission swaps. What more do you want to know?

The offering is what SS.O Members have requested and Ram has let me know they are happy to oblige, so We should stay with that. And that is: A new flywheel made of aluminum or steel for the slant A choIce of disc material A choice of splines so those with 23 or 18 spline Mopar trans or 10 spline Ford. The history of this ask and answer is contained in the now 3 page long post. I have been consolidating this as best that can be done at this point. Ram cannot promise or even confirm anything until they get a flywheel to verify that this will work for us. Ram needs an OEM flywheel and bell ASAP I don’t have either to send them. Right now We need to ask all members, Do you have an OEM bell housing and flywheel that you are willing to send or personally deliver to Ram Clutches? I will gladly reimburse for the shipping and return shipping of your flywheel and bell. I was hoping a member close by would be able to bring these to them. Doug Dutra offered to send these out but is jeopardized with the fires in Sonoma and busy with that right now. *You can respond here or IM me if you can help out with this* Thanks all in advance.

The other option is we keep the original clutch and risk getting a Beck & Beck pedicure. For $950, I will go for the dual disc clutch!

My car now is a 64 Dart GT. The machinist didn't realize what he said when he said "If". Kinda like the "lifetime warranty" on parts for the car. Thats a literal term for me. I've been driving this Dart Lite for 40 yrs. And my daughter has claimed it for when I kick the bucket.
