Very cool! Are you thinking spring 2024 release party?? ;)
Heh. There is SO much left to do. We need to fabricate a nose and a hood. The entire back panel needs to be replaced, because it's mostly made of Bondo. Then the whole body has to come off, so we can build a firewall, massage the doors, tweak/complete the trans tunnel, and shore up the floor. Then there's the dash, the seatbacks, the passenger's seat cushion, the wiring, the brake lines... Ohgod.

I'm pretty close to convincing the machinist to actually assemble the motor once he's done with the oiling and cooling mods. (I know, that's the fun part, but he can do it 10x faster than I could, and he's much less likely to install a connecting rod backwards.)

How far from home do you intend to drive it?

Hopefully far enough to get to Boonsboro, MD :D :D
ROAD TRIP! For a 500-mile excursion, I'll need to enlist some friends. (If we take my buddy's '76 Fleetwood, and rotate drivers every hundred miles or so, nobody's kidneys will rattle out.)

I just re-read this, some install advice [...] So the more you have on, the better you will be when it comes time to fix stuff.
Oh, absolutely, especially with a car this small. There will be some unavoidable inconveniences, but literally seeing where everything wants to sit (as opposed to just thinking about it) will help a lot.

Excited to see this in person someday.

I am getting up the gumption to drive '34 Dodge Coupe further. I put the hood back on so the engine is covered. Trying to find the time to swap to a lower stall converter (2800 from 3700) and go to 3.23 gears.

Would be cool to get these two Slant-powered oldies together...

Lou
