What size are your torque convertor bolts? The 5/16" ones always came loose on my car. I got drilled head bolts and wire tied mine.

Has anyone else considered that the oil pump to block gasket could be the culprit? I seem to recall it would cause the oil to be aeriated and cause bearing failures.

Twas the flex plate bolts. At least one of them. It had come untight a was knocking the cover plate. Pulled all flex plate bolts, cleaned-up, reinstalled with blue loctite an 22.5 ft/lbs. Manipulated the cover plate for more clearance. Buttoned it all up and cranked it. Noise gone. Went for test drive, excellent. Now time to address power steering...

Mr. Rick the bolts are 7/16. I ordered some off Amazon but 5/16 were sent. Tried to return, they credited my account and said keep them. If you have a need for ARP 240-7301, give me an address. I'll send them out no charge. Or if anyone wants them, 1st is 1st.

Thank y'all for your help, knowledge and wisdom's.

That's good news. Yes those small bolts tend to come loose. I could never keep mine tight. So after I pulled the engine one time, I drilled out the bolts and re-tapped them and installed drilled head bolts and safety wire. Problem solved. :D :D
