Rockingham Dragwagway is open, and has a Mopar meet in May and OCT.
Rockingham is at ~426', about 125' Lower than Mason-Dixon, but not as low as MIR at Budd's Creek which is about ~45' elevation.I like lower. Thanks for the idea Charrlie! |

Hmmm. Rockingham is a decent idea. Thanks, Charlie. Lou |

Rockingham was the first slant six race I ran in, and my first race in 15 years. My first slant six race was at Atlanta, but I did not have a car with me. Just went to meet some of the racers. |

The Rock is a nice track and good location for running fast. Lou |

I'll be keeping one eye on this thread and one eye on all the things I need to sort out with the Dart. I'm in the Atlanta area and Rockingham looks like it's about a 5 hour drive for me. Not too bad if I can get all the things I need for both a long road trip and to pass a track safety inspection done. |

I'm not holding my breath for IHRA to re-open Atlanta Dragway. While it would be interesting to have some sort of get-together at the Mitty at Road Atlanta, I don't think anyone here has a car that would make sense on track there. Georgia locations would be Brainerd in the north, Silver Dollar in the middle, or South Georgia Motorsports Park at the Florida border, none of which have any events that a slant six meet would be an obvious tie-in, although SGMP is having a NOPI event where they have a six cylinder turbo class with a minimum 2850 lb weight... I'll join in with posting the distances to all the venues under serious discussion: Rockingham, 300 miles, 5hr Clay City 400 miles, 7hr Mason Dixon 620 miles, 10hr Mokan 800 miles, 12hr |

I like the idea of a big slant event but with work it's always hard for me to get to tracks far away on top of my vintage racing schedule so I doubt I will make it. But I figured I would toss in the idea of a PA race. South Mountain Raceway in Boiling Springs always does a Chrysler race on Friday night the same time as Chrysler at Carlisle. I know this wouldn't be very convenient for the mid west and westerns but two bird one stone for some folks if they were already going to Carlisle. I think this year the Chrysler race would be Friday July 10. The owner of South Mountain, Mike Natoli, is a big Mopar guy too so I'm sure you would be interested in setting up a slant six class for that event. Gene |

Thanks, Gene. If I make it to Carlisle this year, I'll try to make that Friday drag race. I thought the didn't have it last year? It is seeming like Clay City is more centrally located for the most people. I feel like later in the season will work better for most of the core racers I'm talking to. Lou |

I will plan on a Clay City race now. I don't have any vacation time yet to get to Mokan. |

I don't see dates for a Clay City Mopar race/show yet, but am looking. I'll do a poll soon to see what weekends might work for folks. Thanks again, Lou |

London Dragway does, however, have a mopar event in October 2026. I remember a lot of us Slanted folks not having the best time there a few years back, but maybe my memory is wrong? Track is ~1200' elevation, so likely not setting any hard records. |

Nope, It was not good. Multiple delays for no known reason and delays calling anyone up to the lanes. |
