Wow, long time no post...

Just ran my first autocross this last Sunday (7/22/12)

Pulled ol' Project V out of mothballs, swapped on 9 yr old autoX tires/rims, checked fluids, washed it, and ran my 1st autocross ever yesterday at VT. Thanks to Mark Charapich for getting me into this. Lots of fun.

Went from a 62.44 sec (with 1 "off course") to a 58.04 with no cones. Could do a lot better - maybe mid 50s on that course w/o car mods. New slicks would really help. Dropped tire pressures about 8 psi over the runs, which really helped too. Really handled the slaloms well, but LOTs of power oversteer even on mid throttle. Pushing on tight turns, so need to stiffen rear.

Also, have run 13.74 @ 95 MPH at Mason-Dixon dragway (or Clay City, KY?) and 8.67 in the 1/8th, in 2010-2011.

Will be trying a bigger carb and Clifford intake on this thing soon. May try long tube headers too. Seems air restricted at high RPM.

Lou
