So the car was running pretty bad this weekend. Hopping, worse 60ft times and wouldn't pull hard on the the top end of the track. We got into the final time trial and I decided to try swapping plugs to see what was going on. It seemed to help somewhat and didn't break up as bad on the top end of the track. Still hopping and not pulling well but it was better. 1st round of eliminations the weather was worse but the car went faster and broke out. (other lane red lit so I was still in) Round 2 of eliminations the air was worse but the car picked up even more. I had dialed with what I thought was plenty of extra room in case it went faster. My dial time was basically set so that if I broke out it would also break the national record. Well it ran better this time, I was ahead at the finish line so I hit the brakes hard but still broke out. The MPH was about 3 mph slow but the ET was still fast enough to break the current record. I will be sending some records in to seymour for verification soon. It was a great way to end the weekend. Here is the time slip info: 60ft: 1.578 330: 4.564 1/8: 7.150 1/8: 92.625 mph 1/4: 11.425 1/4: 111.294 mph I will also be posting the current records and Lou's 1/8 mile record as well |

Hey Lou, I saw your post in the "best times" thread and I mistakenly thought the record time/mph was from this years clay city race. So I will edit my post above for that. I'm looking forward to hearing more about this new motor, and hope you can break some more records next year too. Looks like I set the A-Gas 1/4 mile record this year. Hopefully I can get a few things straightened out for mason dixon and try to re-set that record too. I'd love to see Mark (MadMax) back on the track again too. I love his car and his enthusiasm. |

Here is the official B unlimited record set by Wes Alumbaugh at Clay City Kentucky. It was a blast watching this car go down the track! This was a previously open record, but Wes really set this record low. Very impressive car. Congratulations on the new record!
