Right now it has a 3.91 in it Mark. I didn't have time to install the spool but will soon. The torque convertor is a 3000-3200 stall I got from Lou so it should be good to go. Just have to decide what to do with the rest of the tranny. Might just contact Seymour! Rick |

Great story, Rick! Glad to hear it is mostly there. Sorry to hear about the trans. With the stock busted-ring 225 in the Slantkota when I got it, that trans shifted OK, so that's a bummer about the slipping. I may have another spare for ya with a shift kit? Glad to hear you got 3000 out of that converter - should be about perfect. 15.8 under those conditions is good. 14s should be no trouble. Huge congrats on the dawn of a new era! Lou |

No worries about the tranny Lou. At least my driveline didn't fall out!! ![]() I'll drop you a PM about the other tranny. Maybe we can work something out. All in all I'm very pleased. I think the convertor is going to be great! Thanks Rick |

Hey Rick If you need a dude who can put togther one wicked 904 to hold up behind your slant without any slippin, I know a guy (ME).... I recommend you find someone else to setup your driveshaft and U Joints however! ![]() We need to get you a spool or a detroit locker ![]() I had a Detroit Locker on the dart when I raced and Street drove it with the 4.10's - - No Problems - A little clicky, clicky in some turns - That's all. Greg the spool will go in soon! ![]() Well there may be good news yet! I warmed up the car this evening and thought I better check the fluid level just to be sure. I read that 1/2 quart low can cause slipping. Guess what? Idling in neutral I was over 1 full quart low!! I am not sure how, since I checked all the fluids last week in preparation for the drag strip runs. Anyway, I am hoping that that was the problem. Line pressure in drive @ 1000RPM was between 75 & 78#. This is about 15# above what the FSM says but I don't know if that is a problem. With my loose convertor that may be good?? Let me know your thoughts on this. I will be happy not to have to swap this out if indeed that was all that was wrong. Since Lou didn't notice any slippage when he drove the truck with this tranny in it, I am feeling encouraged! ![]() ![]() Rick |

Rick, how much do you think its going to weigh. Lot of nice detail and work you've put into it. |

Might have taken a while do bleed the air out of your transmission cooler and line. Good luck Rick. |

I don't know? I was going to weigh it but they did not have the scales open at Mason Dixon.I have heard factory weight from 2570 - 2800. I don't have an interior, or undercoating, heater , wipers..etc. But I added frame connectors, an 8 3/4 rear, and big bolt drums off a B body car that are very heavy. So it may be a wash on the weight savings. I hope it is around 2800# or less. We shall see. Rick |

Take it on the trailer to a truck stop. Unload and get on the scale. That is what I do, on the way to the track, if I am hoping to set a record. Rick My 66 Valiant weighed exactly 2500lbs (no driver) on the way to Knoxville |

Here is a short "Epic style" highlight video of Dads first pass with the Valiant at the drag strip. Pay close attention to Greg's driveshaft rolling across the track at the end of the video. Hope the link works. http://youtu.be/nePRa5A9qyM |
