Stan, What did it run? Quote: If all that is correct, I don't think I can run a quarter with the tires and gear in the Colt.
What is the shift light set at? It only sounds like it is turning about 5000 when your shifting. Maybe? I would give it a longer burn out and launch at a higher RPM and then hold on! Congrats! Good to see it running! |

Rick I just looked at the slips. It ran a 9.75 @ 75.81 That is 4215 RPM in high gear. So I guess I need to really check the shift light indicator. On my first run it picked the tires around six inches, carried them about 3 feet out and then came down. That run was similar to the second run ET wise and MPH. I did cut one good light and it's consistent (ly slow). Not sure how much higher I want to bring it out, that first launch snapped my head back. I really need to decide what RPM to launch at. |

That hard hit now will not feel as hard later! At 4200 you are just starting to pull. You will sneak up on it little by little. |

When I let my friedn's daughter drive my car I lowered the shift light from 6300 to 4900 for her. It slowed the car down a lot. As Rick said, more seat time will help immensely. |

Denis, I need to make sure it's correct, might raise the rev limiter a couple hundred also. |

Very exciting! Seems you should run in the 8s at least with that MPH. For sure you will pick up quite a bit when you rev it higher. My experience is that Slants don't pick up a ton of time with tall (high numerical) axle gears. Maybe switch to a lower gear so you're not shifting so frequently? Lou |

How heavy is the flywheel? Bright side is you learned some things, had fun, and loaded up a running race car. Successful day indeed! |

Thanks Lou, 4.88 in the Dana. Maybe change tires. Dennis, it's 35 lbs. plus disk and pressure plate. Has to be over 40 lbs. I guess I do need to keep that weight spinning. |

Might need to leave a little higher. |

I left @ 5200 with the '69 Dart - ~3400# with a 4.10 Gear. Stockish Street slicks etc. I am pretty sure Team Grean Left at a Higher RPM as well. Glad you are getting it out there and having fun! Greg |

Looking good Stan! PS. I accidentally ordered a shim set for a Dana 60 ring & pinion. Not worth sending back. Send me your address again and I will mail them to you. Rick |

Thanks Rick, that is a very nice gesture. This linkage is a mess! Going to spend a little time getting it all sorted. And fuel lines too. Do you find you have to remove the tops often? I am thinking about three separate lines if I do take them off. Float level and anything else I might need to tweek. |

No, I set the float levels when I installed them and never touched them until I removed them and changed the venturi to 40mm. The Red line linkages are a bit nicer with 3 mounting posts. Ryan is running the Clifford on his. Pretty sure he is running 3 separate carb linkages |

Got my linkage almost done. I need some 10-32 left handed jam nuts. And the right ones also. Forgot to order them from McMaster Carr. Here is what I have now. Rick, I got those shims, thank you.
