I ordered a pair of heavy (29.5#) steel dirt track wheels from Speedway. 15X10 with 2" backspace. They were on sale for $39.99. I got lug nuts to go with them for another $9. If I come up with something better before Clay City I can always try to sell them or just count it as another $100 loss...

I have the original wheels getting inspected to see if they can still be saved. If so, they'll be bead blasted and powder coated...

I'm also looking at a set on Racingjunk and another pair with slicks here locally...

Not giving up yet! I've taken the last couple nights off from wrenching. Maybe I'll get back on it tonight...

Weight difference was 8 lbs per tire! :(

The local set of wheels wouldn’t work. Waiting to hear back on the Racingjunk set. I doubt I will know anything about my current wheels for awhile. Pinning hopes on the heavy dirt track wheels for now.

I keep adding weight like this and the Challenger will be in B class... or C...

Fill the tires with helium (or hydrogen if you're feeling lucky)

16 pounds of rotating mass... hmmm. Thats why the good tires cost so much.

Yep.

I had to do a brake job on the truck this evening, so no Challenger progress.

I’ve put over 30,000 miles on this truck in the last year.

The Challenger has to go on the back burner for just a little bit.

I have to put nitrous in the Duster for Clay City.

Focus?

You know I ain’t never had no real focus, Sandy.

Honestly, the Challenger still needs a lot of work to even be ready to start and roll.

I’ll do what I can, but it probably won’t make Clay City. Maybe Mason-Dixon or the rescheduled Knoxville race.

Its hard enough with a rig that runs.

Focus on the Red Jacket....
