Well....McLeod did not have the Kevlar dual blah blah disc I won on ebay....so they phones up and asks if I would accept a $325 ceramic disc instead.......for my $110....mmmmmmmmOK My oil pump already has 10000 miles on it....going back and forth across the country. Hope to get it next week. Doug is sending it to me repeatedly thanks to US Post. It used to belong to Bren....so it must be expensive.... I put together the rotating assembly today with no hitches....so far just a lil drilling of a cam bearing to line things up. Mebbe timing set and cam tonight.... The plan is a shakedown cruise to Cowgarry Oilberta in the Valaint.....in 10 days....then off to LV |

I ordered some shorter pushrods from Smith Bros today.....the trickest thing in the whole motor. Cool folks to deal with. The gaskets are in Colville....pushrods and oil pump and dist drive gear are on their way. I wonder where my clutch disc is? |

Alex went to Colville today and brought clutch disc (looks way trick) , gaskets , my Smith Bros pushrods ( I ordered them on Monday!) ,,,,and a ex Bren Dutra oil pump...(special high mileage version....not in a motor...in transit). I picked up 2 dist drive gears in town today and a tube ó goop. If Kate the Slag Hag(my dotter....other handle is Spark Tart) welds up my front cover cam button I think I have everything in one place! I made an appointment for the Valaint at my mechanics shop for a pre trip service on Wed next....we shall see |

I drove to town and all over it today....and back.....60 miles I have some driveline vibes to cure. The fan helped with cooling. I think I have a sticky caliper. The car is very easy to drive...has instant throttle response....and tons of midrange. I can still idle the car in 1st. It starts instantly. I have some midrange ping on the highway..... .....but darn its noisy inside....wind noise....road noise |
