That's what I was afraid of, the shorter duration lobes are all chevy lifter profiles that don't take advantage of the .904 lifter............

Is our larger lifter diameter an advantage with shorter duration street cams? I always believed it was more of a consideration with a max effort setup using stock type lifters, mechanical or hydraulic. And then durability with those profiles would take second place to performance because of the stiff springs needed for the high rate.

Nice of you to organize this. I could use a 280 degree cam, Pn E470302. Let me know if you can make the deal happen, I will put it on my card. Thanks ... Valiant V300

Yo.....Gang! Where is this at? Resting, dead, what?

Is there a contact number/person? Is there some kind of "sale code" to use to let them know it's part of an arranged group buy?

I'm still very interested.

Roger

Let's try this again;

NEWLANCERMAN!! Where is this group buy at, progress-wise? There's more than a few of us that want to get cams. You got this ball rolling, and the rest of us presume you've been talking with them, and we don't want to step on your thunder. Progress update, please!

Roger

Well, it looks as if the guy that started this has dropped the ball.

I think I'm going to see if I can't find a way to pick it up and run with it. Stay tuned.....

Roger

Im here Roger! Just wasn't getting new posts notifying me. Just been at a conference this last week, so wasn't online much.

I called him yesterday to see what the pricing info was and didn't get a call back. I'll call him again. Never fear =)

Guys,

Thanks to everyone for their interest in the cam buy. I spoke to Erson today and confirmed some pricing and information. They have ordered 50 blanks for this group buy, which are scheduled to arrive from Engine Power at the end February. Grinds will then be ready within a few weeks. I have worked out the following deals (not including shipping direct to you)

Pricing:
--------
$128 per camshaft--off the shelf or custom grind of your choice.
$163: camshaft + lifter kit
$240 for camshaft + lifter + double spring ($45) and retainers ($32)

This price is very close to their wholesale price, and available to SlantSix.org members only.

How to Order:
----------------
1. Call Tom McGibbon 1 (800)-641-7920 ext. 327
YOU MUST MENTION SLANTSIX.ORG TO GET PRICING, and feel free to mention my name (Menko Johnson).
2. Have your VISA/MC Ready
3. Shipping Information

Orders will be filled on first come, first served basis, and nobody will be charged until the camshafts have been shipped. I thought this would be easier than me trying to get everyone's information and handling it (S-P-A-X).

Feel free to talk to Tom about your specific needs. Doug and I are talking about some dual pattern grinds that would improve upon the 270/280 cams on perhaps a slightly tighter lobe center and mixing of the intake and exhaust profiles.

If anyone has Desktop Dyno available and would like to run some of these profiles, I'd appreciate your input.

Questions? Please let me know! These guys have been really great to talk with and I would hope the community would be willing to step up and support them in turn. The fact they are willing to grind ANY profile for the price of a stock camshaft is excellent. I know some of you out there have been dying for some wild cams, so here's your chance.

Any questions, please ask here or contact me directly.

MJ

PS--Sorry Roger was just waiting to hear from them, didn't mean to give you the impression I'd feel off the face of the earth =)[/list]

A single THANKS!! is just not enough. Ya did real good. :D :D

(Sorry for seeming "antsy", but I'm going to need a cam for a near future build, and wanted to make doggone sure I got in on this.)

Roger
