What inline fuel pumps are recommended for the dual-injector TBI from a GM 4.3L? I'm installing it on my D150, so I'm not as concerned with the noise issue. After several recommendations, I decided to go with the GM TBI instead of the Chrysler TBI. |

I'm running a Carter pump originally meant for a '89 Ford F-150. Cheap and effective, although we'll see if I need to upgrade with my turbo. It's definitely OK for a naturally aspirated slant. |

Thanks, Matt. Do you recall the model number of your Carter? |

www.apeusa.com for pumps GM TBI's use a low pressure pump. The regulator built into the TBI unit drops it down to 13psi. My Howell kit came with al walbro GSL395. However, a high pressure pump meant for MPFI will work fine as well. That pump is 125, while the highest rated one is 140 so for the price difference you may as well leave yourself room to grow. |

Thanks, Pierre. I would like to consider MPFI later on at some point. |

Ok I know it's been a while, but we've had ups and downs with the car as a whole. Today I sat down and burned gallons and gallons to get the car running how I like it. Now, to my knowledge the VE table that I made is set to the VE of the required fuel. So the VE is dependant on the injectors not so much the engine. That being said unless you use the 350 TBI (55lbs) yours will be somewhat different. This is finally set to where I like it so I hope I can make a short video of how to set you up so that will help Megasquirt users, the first hurdle is always the scariest, but it's a lot easier once you make the first plunge. |

That is really interesting. Thanks for sharing. The fuel is quite different from what I would expect. As vacuum drops, the fuel is greater at LOWER RPMS. And from 45 KPA and above, the fat part of the map is in the middle RPM's. Can you tell us what you experienced as you tuned that led you to make these choices please? Sam |

That spark map looks awfully familiar Remember, I made it as a really safe map to get the basic shape from info I gathered from Lou. I haven't messed with it since, but I recall Lou saying there would be more economy in it when increasing timing in cruising part of the map |

Looks like nice maps to me, to get you started. Yep, you can run way more timing advance at lower MAP values and mid RPMS (part throttle cruise). I tend to richen up high RPM WOT stuff to start with and lean out until it runs best, just for safety, although that has gotten me into trouble sometimes... Lou |
