Hiss from the turbo muffler? What kind of off brand junk was that? Should I make a sound clip of my Dynomax Super Turbo on my Valiant for you?

Magnaflux Turbo muffler. It was a slight hiss. Not like a real muffler. I liked the sounds of the louder cars better. Wicked Six has a great sounding car with the 40s. But I have a single pipe. And probably only me hears that hiss.

Is'nt that the power valve Vacuum feed? And if it's threaded, it looks like it had a power valve saver (check ball and seat) screwed in there.

HUH? You got me lost there. Are you talking about that hole next to that tube, that looks like something is missing? That is where I thought I lost a screw from. But not knowing what was there before, can't say for sure. If something is missing there, do I need to replace it?

If you are dead set on using the flowmaster 40, you might want to put as long a cherry bomb muffler as you can fit in front and behind the flowmaster. That *might* bring the noise down to an acceptable level.

I bet it'd have a nice unique sound to it as well....

I am not worried about how loud it is. I had those on a Dodge truck before. I loved that muffler on it. It made the engine sound really deep. I expect the same with the slant six, since I have heard some before. And since I don't listen to my radio (it works, but nothing interesting is on AM), I usually listen to the engine anyhow. And this car I only drive it usually on the weekend. And only when the wife isn't coming with me. She doesn't like to ride in that car, since her car has the radio. AC, etc..... Usually it is driven to some stores and back. It hardly ever sees the freeway, which is probably why the carbon was on the plugs. Now after I get this running again, I will take it on the freeway every weekend, and have some fun. Where I get on the freeway, there is a sign on the other side of the freeway, saying 1/4 of a mile until the next road. Thus, I start off sitting still, and do that quarter mile. That is where I took Amy to practice, and to see if she could handle it okay.
