Knowing these engines, I'd say 6500 RPM redline and most cams with 0.600" lift would likely work. That said, you are better off with a 0.550" cam and making power peak before 6000-6200 on the 225. Long stroke and small bore means lower RPM range for max power. Lou |

Quote: Two questions for K1tom;What is the max RPM you'd recommend for your rods and the Wiseco pistons . Also how much valve lift can I run assuming unmilled head and block?
As long as you are running the new Wiseco piston, I would not be afraid to turn the motor 8,000 - 8,500 RPM. I bet a Slant would sound pretty good up there. Regarding piston to valve clearance, the valve pockets are .240" deep but due to cam timing etc. you should always check to make sure what clearance you have.

The pistons are thick enough that a dish can be put in them -up to .170 deep and a diameter of 2.900 or so. This would still leave about .180" worth of material under a dish like this. This takes our -6cc flat top to about -20cc or so. I'd recommend this for guys that have modded pistons before....
So after cutting to -20cc, is the piston top is still thick enough to handle boost? 500+hp?
