Now I understand,,,,,.what do you think you found?I dont want to wait a week,CURIOUS,Mark
When we changed the distributor I did not pay attention to the wire color on the plug, I jut plugged it in (I am using the factory plug) . We started to take the motor apart and my dad was about to pull the distributor off and noticed that the black wire was going to the white and vise versa. So we put the Black on Black and white on white, put some of what we had taken off back on, started it and wala, it seems to be running 10 times better. I pulled the car out of my shop and did a dry hop launch (I have 10' of concrete out front of my shop) to see if the car would take the throttle and it took off really well. Of course there is no way to be 100% sure until we make a pass down the track and see what happens.

Assuming this was the problem, this is what I feel liked happened. When we changed the carb it was not the smart thing. We should have tried to jet up the carb that was on it. Through the process of fixing the carb issue the distributor failed. When we changed the distributor, the new one was wired wrong so it gave the look that changing the distributor did not fix the problem when it actually fixed one problem, but created another.

Wow, that would totally explain everything. I did that once when wiring up an ECU and it took a bit to figure out.

Get on the road to Wilkesboro, and you can make it by race time!!!

I'm heading out from VA now (7 AM).

Lou

Unfortunately I had taken too much of the car apart already so there was no way I could get it back together and make it. On the plus side, I wanted to go to Bristol in September, but my wife was not too keen on me going to Bristol and Wilksboro. Now that I am not going to Wilksboro, there is no excuse for me not to go to Bristol.

OK, great to know you have it running, and that you can make Bristol!

We had a great time yesterday, racing with the Slanted family...
