There were stories on the west side too!

I'll start it out with my trip to the track, then perhaps some of our other Bees can chime in with their own stories, so the full impact can be shared!

Everything was going along famously. We were pulling down the 101, Hooptie safely ensconced in it's cozy trailer, all the fixin's for a great weekend packed around it tightly.
We'd just passed Cresent city, and were tooling along behind a weird motorhome with European license plates on it. A log truck was in front of the motorhome, and we were making time at 55 mph on a flat straight stretch.
Unexpectedly 1/2 a house came to an abrupt halt in our lane of travel! The log truck went left hard on the brakes, the motorhome stopped straight, and I went right full on the brakes. I wasn't slowing since I'd backed the bias off on the trailer brakes, so I grabbed a big handfull of controller. I was half in the gravel, so the electric brakes locked. The digital brake controller did something fancy, and the rig stopped with little fuss even in the loose stuff. I think the ABS on the pickup activated too, but I was eating adrenaline, so can't describe that sensation. The whole thing was over pretty quickly, and Mike who was following me was able to come to a controlled stop. Not a scratch on us.

All the tires were gone from the right side of the 1/2 house. I should have backed off sooner as I'd seen tire smoke rolling for a couple of miles from the pin head pulling the house down the road. There were chunks of tire strewn all over the place.

A couple miles down the road, Linda shared, "Now that scared me." She's pretty difficult to spook. I was ready to go wrassle a bear with one arm tied behind my back.

We had a couple misadventures with folks coming to the Elk Creek race as well.

To add insult to injury,... We got rained out too...

Here is the story and some pictures (Last couple pages):
