sounds like your idle woes are IAC related.

I need to download that datalogging software. I just rolled my own in XL, but it doesn't look that nice.

I turn off my O2 sensor and tune everything first by just looking at the O2 readings when driving at different points in the VE map, or by datalogging. I did my whole 2000+ mile trip last week with no O2 feedback and got 24-25mpg @70mph. Still tweaking a little, but mostly there. I have no fast idle provision at this point, and it idles fine after I rev it softly for 10-20 sec or so.

Almost done... only thing left is to tighten the manifold/headers down, do the plumbing, and the wiring. Sorry pictures are big, I tried to use the width= using straight html code but it didn't seem to take.

I've put about, oh, 250 miles or so on the setup so far. All I did tuning wise was set req_fuel , didn't work much on anything else. Need to fuss iwth the Accelerator encrichment and cold start params, but the driveability is good, excellent torque.

Congrats, Pierre! You have some work to do with tuning, but it will pay off.

Latest updates to this mpfi business - megasquirt is now where the glove compartment was - I got tired of it sitting on the floorboard so I finally found a home for it in the dash. Pretty soon I will be getting rid of the relay board (I really don't like the type of screw connectors on it) and wiring everything directly to the board I mounted the computer on under the dash.

Also redid intake plumbing -

I can now feel confident driving the car with one foot. Once I re-routed the fuel return from the pump input directly into the tank, hot idle is plenty stable now. Every now and then I plug the computer in and tweak the tuning, still needs some work to be 100% solid but tis a never ending adventure of fun ;)

Pierre, the "width=" doesn't work anymore (don't know why) but a recent software update resizes your pictures automatically and allows you to click on the picture to load the larger image.

Nicely done... way to persevere on a project and see it through. Did you document how you got your MP injectors/fuel rail hardware set up? Did you have the fuel rail made or did you fab it?

I have been running MS for 2 years on a '77 Ramcharger and love it. MS is the way to go. My Duster will have MS injection and spark control.

Good Job!!

The fuel rail and manifold came as you see it in the pictures from clifford direct. They apparently at one time were going to sell mpfi setups and they made a limited run of mpfi manifolds and rails. Those plans fell through - he gave me the manifold with bungs already drilled for same price as a regular one, and fuel rail for an extra $20. Only thing I "manufactured" were those hold downs and adapter plate for throttle body.

Those aren't MP injectors, they are 22lb ford/denso injectors from www.fiveomotorsport.com

Other than what's in this thread I don't have anything documented.... feel free to ask me anything here.

Wow... thanks for the compliments, I thought my installation was craptacular personally....

The bundymobile is downed for a while, hole #4 had 60 psi compression, 100 less than the rest, due to jacked up exhaust valve/seat. Getting complete rebuild done, should have the engine back within 2 weeks. Should make the EFI easier to tune....

I may do little stuff in the meantime while engine is out, cleaning up engine bay, wiring, etc. We shall see. Eager to get the new mill back in!
