They're spaced about 1/8" apart even though they're together. Further apart would be better? |

Yes. I would keep them at least 1/2" apart anywhere that they run parallel. |

So in reality even though it looks better paralleled like i have it, it would be better to scatter and break them up a bit? |

Absolutely. Induction from parallel wires can cause random sparks at the wrong plugs. It may not have anything to do with the ignition issues you had on the dyno but it's one possible source of a problem that is easy to eliminate. |

If you have to have wires touching make the contact as close to 90 degrees as allowable.. That rats-nest you cleaned up probably is the best solution to killing cross fire from induction, as there is considerably less parallel contact with the neighboring conductors. Also a high quality wire set will have better resistance to inductance due to its better thicker insulation or dielectric properties and sealed boots. |

Right now it's some really thick Accell cut-em-yourself wires. I figured they'd have decent resistance as they weren't cheap, but experimenting with the $20 stock set is not out of the question to go buy. |

Well, new fueling and finishing the hangar18 mods to the carburetor seems to have helped a bunch. There is no more lagging out, the fuel stays consistant under boost, and can only get better from here. The ignition operates fine, but now timing is an issue - I am getting audible frying sound (I think det) that occurs if I really mash on it, so I'm looking into adjusting the timing further, and going for yet another step colder plugs. Hopefully it will straighten out. |

You might try the gm hei boost retard setup, i done a write up. I have no issues (that I can detect) w 23* and the 5* retard puts me at 18. Works flawless so far. |

Right now i have a locket distributor that only allows for it to advance to 18 then it stops advancing. But even at 18 I'm getting pinging. |

I would get a timing light and verify your initial timing, and then pull the vacuum advance hose, and verify timing when it's revved up. That's how I done mine. Just be careful of the fan belts. |

Everything's slowly getting sorted out for this car. It's also almost ready to hit the Wednesday night drag strip at Sonoma. Engine has been tuned in and just sorting some heat issues, and I've almost completely finished the interior. I also modified the trunk to not have a giant subwoofer box anymore. It's now a stealth install with a NHRA approved battery box with vent and some custom tool boxes I bolted down with brand new carpet as well.

Love the car. 4 doors forever. Looking forward to seeing some drag numbers... I am driving my 68 turbo Dart 4dr to the Martinsville, VA NASCAR race today. First time for me, got tix through a friend who works as a nurse in Martinsville and all med workers there get tickets to the races. Lou |

Lou, sounds awesome. I've yet to race this car. I've actually never raced any car. It'll be a first for me, so my times will hopefully reflect the "raw power" rather than my inexperience. lol |

The Dart hit the car show again this year, and I'm getting closer to racing her. I'm just working on my battery switch in the trunk, figuring out the wiring, and the actual mechanism which will come through the tail light. I also got some clean up work done in the trunk... and finished the interior for the most part. I also built a custom - one of a kind - Chrysler Turbine car inspired center console.
