Thanks, within the next few weeks I plan to get into the carb more, learn what all the components are and what they do, at this point most of whats in there I know little to nothing about. Hopefully when I am able to have a clear understanding I can follow along with you better. |

A fellow over on the Volare forum looked in Nos 1980 parts book, I asked him if he could find an original part number for the two barrel carb, manual trans truck. This is the info he gave me...........So your looking for the Carter 2BBL Manual non California. In the book there's no reference to California just Canada and Export. Sorry. The numbers I'm giving you are for a manual transmission though. I will post it as it appears in the 1980 Passenger Car Part Catalog. (Minus the periods. You see what I'm doing with the periods, I'm making the spaces. 10-4) CAR LINE........................ TRANS....................... ENG.................... MFG. NO.................... REF. NO.............................. (Chrysler number is at the end) H,N(/SC N98)...................... M.......................... 225....................... 8287............................ 7............................................. 4179 050 He noted to me that he felt that the 4179 050 # would have possibly been the Chrysler part #. Boy this number seems familiar to me for some reason but I cant put my finger on it. Does any of this info make any sense to you? Id like to talk to the fellow at Old Car Parts N.W and ask if he has a NOS carb in stock that is built for a truck. EDIT: I just realized he is using..........1980 Passenger Car Part Catalog...........so the info concerning what would have been used on the trucks would not be avail. within his part book. |
