Well we just arrived in Kentucky for our vacation/anniversary part of the trip. The truck ran great and for the first time we made the trip with no repairs needed along the way. Looking forward to the race and will see you all this weekend!

VERY sorry to have to back out on this one, fellow Slanters. I love the Clay City race and have only missed 2 since 2002. I have had a ton of trips in the last 2 mo and a bunch more to go in the next 2... Got to take care of some business here before the next trip and then can make Mason-Dixon in October.

I did stop in on Leighton, Judy, and Tom Drake in Charlotte last night on my travels and they say hello to everyone. It was so great to see them and talk about Slant 6 racing and people.

I have decided I won't be driving the slant scamp. Therefore, no chance of me racing. I have to drive 3.5 hours each way and can't spend the night, so I can't risk the inherant unreliable possibilities of a 42 year old car. But I hope to bug you all in the pits and maybe someone will let me ride shotgun down the strip.

Will Friday night test and tune time slips count towards a record or do the time slips have to be Saturday or Sunday of the event?

Time trials, test and tune, racing in another class, etc during the weekend all count. As long as you are entered into and race in the Slant 6 race.
