No but a deep pan is on the list. Ya got one for $20?

I want to get it running and back on the road before I go too far down my wish list road. I already went down that road quite a ways!

I finally got back to the race truck for more than just an hour. Every time I went to start installing sheet metal, there was something else that I wanted to do before it was back in place. It is just so much easier to get to everything with the fenders and radiator support off!

I took some time and completed the throttle / kick down brackets. It seems that everyone does it just a bit different so here are the pics of mine. Of course mine is an Edelbrock 4 barrel and cable operated kick down from Gear head. I bolted a factory Super six bracket under the manifold for the throttle. it had to be bent towards the D/S about 1" to line up well. Then I made a bracket that bolted on where the hot air inlet would have been and bent it out to support my kickdown. This setup allows almost straight line pull on both cables. I think I will do this on the race car too.

Then I mounted the Radiator support and D/S fender.

While the fenders were off I had Robby (Paint Guy) weld the emblem holes shut on the fenders and the Ram head holes on the new hood also. I never really cared for them. I would like to install a dual snorkel like is on the 73/74 Dusters.

Still mounting front end sheet metal but will soon be ready for the Electric fan. The question is this. Is it preferable to have the fan offset to the hot or cold side of the radiator? I have an aftermarket cross flow radiator. and a 16" high volume fan and can put it to the D/S or the P/S. I am thinking to the D/S Any opinions or does it not matter a bit.

Put it over the hottest part of the rad. That will get you the biggest cooling effect. A larger thermal difference between ambient air passing over the hot part will provide more cooling than over a cooler (hot) part.

Running fan as a puller is better than pusher too, so you don't block the front of the radiator with the fan and its housing.

That is what I thought. Thanks. Although I will probably have it be a pusher. This radiator is substantially bigger and better than the factory one so it should be fine. I like the extra room on the engine side.

Hey Rick- you still have your Ram's head hood ornament? If so, interested in selling it?

Got the right side Fender mounted and went to align the fender / door / hood and found out that the cab is a little bit tweaked from the crash too. I had Robby look at it and he said just put it together for now and align everything the best I can and once it comes over to be painted we will re-tweak the front door post. The windshield is being replaced and will be pulled in order to paint the truck anyway. So that is the time to be pounding on stuff.

Got the Radiator mounted, electric fan installed and made a filler panel for above the fan. I am going to seal up the side of the fan also to force most of the air through the radiator. Now I am moving on to the electrical wiring cleaning up about 25 uneeded wires. May even be able to start it up in week or so.

Filler panel I made for along the side of the Electric fan. I split a piece of 1/4" hose and glued it along the radiator side of the aluminum and then pushed it tight against the radiator.

New bracket to hold the HEI module and coil. I actually will mount a second HEI module beside the other one as a back-up ignition.

Also added a 1 1/2" longer Alternator belt to give some additional room to get the valve cover off easily. I believe the new length is 58 1/2". This still leaves some adjustment in the slot of the top bracket.
