Perfect! Are Chevy 250 bearings more available than Slant 6 bearings? Probably not the case here, but I have never checked. Some folks here have used Honda 4cyl rod bearings - many types/materials/qualities available.

Might be some more modern and widely produced inline 6 or 4 to consider too...

Yeah you're right about the crank.

I was also thinking about ceramic coating the combustion chambers as well for less heat transfer.

For valvetrain I was thinking a roller rocker setup @ 1.6 rocker ratio. Run some big stainless valves and call it good.

About ceramic coating the combustion chamber I've never seen that myself so I cant tell about the benefits but I'll be worried about the coating loosing.. Its not tye sake heat as exhaust and also you got moving parts inside the Chamber... But maybe it's an already tested stuff... So... I'm just speaking my tyougths out here.

About tye valvetrain that sounds good.. Maybe 7mm stem valves to get the most cc out of the port that will be good for turbo flow... How about a steel cam and roller rockers?
