Quote: Rock auto has packs of two bushings for $1.44 per pack
The new bushings I have purchased have not impressed me much. I could not get them to stay on the linkage and wrestle it back into place in the cowl. Do yourself a huge favor and cut one of the small pieces of sheet metal out of the D/S cowl and the whole linkage goes in 10 times easier. Or you could modify the linkage and completely and get rid of those bushings like I did on my truck. Rick PS. That wheel cleaner works good! |

Do tell! Pictures would be MOST appreciated.Quote: PS. That wheel cleaner works good!
Yeah, I like it a LOT. I can't wait to try it out on the other four rims. I need to save up enough money to get new tires though. I have blown through basically all of my project car fund getting this truck and getting all the little bits it needs.

Never mind! I read back through Rick's 85 race truck thread and found the nice write-up he did about the wiper linkage bushings. I like it! I will consider that seriously when I get into replacing my bushings. I should be able to install that Ram's head ornament son, too. Somebody already drilled one hole in the area it should go, so I just have to drill a couple more. |

Hey Reed, you have a 1bbl carb on your truck's slant, correct? Are you happy with your air cleaner? I ask because is because I have a couple of 1bbl air cleaners in my garage that I would possibly sell, or trade. Lemme know, Wes |

Yes, I have a one barrel air cleaner. However, I will be modifying it to be a two barrel air cleaner when I switch out to a two barely carb. So I am not in the market for a one barrel air cleaner right now. Thanks though! |

Quote: First step is finding the water leaks. Water leaks are not allowed in Western Washington. Then I need to get the HVAC system working so I can defog the windows after they fog up from the water leaks.
I gave up on stopping water leaks in my Dart. I just watched were the woter pubbled and drilled a hole. After about a dozen, the floor boards started to stay dry. Now I have an interesting leak up by the passenger side rain gutter, Water leaks thru and drops on the rear seat. I doubt if drilling a hole will fix this one.

Hmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmm. How about a mechanical cam and matched set of lifters? Good for a regrind? 68 A body gas tank with no sending unit but will good straps and an Eastwood gas tank sealing kit? 68 A body power steering column with no steering wheel? Ummmm, decent condition original exhaust manifold with a nice "smile" to it (good for home-made duals)? Partial trade on a set of LBP 15x8.5 finned aluminum rims (hurricane mags)? Partial trade on a set of 15x7 solid aluminum factory Cordoba wheels? Non-reclining factory high-back bucket seats out of a 83 Dodge van (lightweight- good for a drag racer)? A LBP 7 1/4 rear axle with good rebuilt 10 inch finned drums and 2.7 gears? A dinky6 or 8 inch chrome open element air cleaner that fits a two barrel? A huge open element chrome air cleaner that fits a four barrel? Let me think and try and come up with some other parts I have stashed away you might be interested in. |

Okay, you're going to a 2bbbl carb, cool. Just thought I'd ask. I have a theory that if I help someone with their project, I'll build up some good kharma. Anyway, how do those 15 x 7 Cordoba rims look? I like my cop wheels, but... Oh yeah, I have a couple of 2bbl air cleaners in my garage. (Subtle hint) |

Cordoba rims: And I recently got all four finned center caps and three of the red center medallions, but none of the attaching hardware. However, Arizona Auto parts has all the hardware and the last medallion all for under $50. Seriously, if someone would throw out a reasonable price for a Super Six air cleaner, I might buy it. I am not going to pay the ridiculous $130-$200 prices being asked on eBay for the air cleaner. But I would be happier with a parts swap. I don't NEED a Super Six air cleaner, I can modify the single barrel air cleaner I have now, but a correct air cleaner would be fun. |

Those rims look good. They're aluminum, right? Okay, I was poking around in my parts stash just now. I have a couple of 2bbl air cleaners that look to be of late sixties vintage, and at least one that looks '70s super six style. I can take pics on my phone. Interested? |

The Cordoba rims are factory 15x7 aluminum rims with about 4 inches of backspacing. I would be interested in a two barrel air cleaner only if it had the correct end on the snorkel to hook a cold air duct to. The 60s air cleaners won't have that. It would have to be a mid-70s and up air cleaner. Frankly, shipping rims is VERY expensive these days. I would expect shipping these rims to Texas from Washington to cost around $200. I bet you could find a nice set of rims closer to you for less than the cost of shipping these. |

Yeah, shipping those wheels would be pricey. I just took some pics of the '70s style air cleaner on my tablet. |
