Does anyone know where I can get some good quality starter ring gears? I need to get one in hand to mock up the new flywheel. On another note, does the slant prefer a certain weight of flywheel? Are the aluminum flywheels too light for comfortable street use? I am planning on shooting for about 26lbs for the new thicker flywheel because the CD009 is known to chatter with a light single mass flywheel but I think a solid aluminum one would only be about 15lbs. However, solid steel would be about 40lbs so I would have to start whittling away the steel version to hit my desired weight. |

Custom flywheel taking shape. The pressure plate pattern is the Ford 10". I don't have a Nissan PP in front of me to finalize the 9 hole bolt pattern, but should have one soon. I also need to re-read the Ford PP swap thread to see how much the shift fork had to be shimmed. The added thickness of this flywheel may allow that swap to work better as well at 1.725" thick. This one currently weighs 30lb without the ring gear so I need to keep removing material. |

Nice Work. I prefer a lighter rather than heavy flywheel. Of course my build will be Street / auto X / Road Race only! I wonder if you can get a starter ring gear from an old stock flywheel or sacrifice an old stock slant 6 904 converter? Greg |

I have been running 11 lb alum flys in my 64 Dart for 12+ yrs. No problem here. Steel insert of course. The Slant cranks are heavy, so plenty of inertia there to smooth things out. Lou |

I'm still working on it. I have to double check the dowel pin locations on the transmission side and purchase a mini starter then I'll be able to finalize the adapter plate. That will allow me to get the final measurements for the flywheel thickness. I recently purchased a new machining center and sold one so my shop has been busy catching up on purchase orders from the down time. Would you be willing to pay a deposit for a kit? I get significant price breaks on the materials if I can order in quantities greater than 2 pieces, but I wouldn't want to sit on the cost of say, five kits worth of materials. I realize I would need to give you guys an actual price and bill of materials before you can make an informed decision. I am also putting it out there that my install will probably be fairly slow because of life right now. I would prefer to put miles on the conversion before giving it to the public, but if some of you are interested in assuming some of the liability that comes with the testing phase of development and can get yours installed sooner, I'm willing to get you your parts at the same time that I make mine. I've never done any kind of group buy before, so I could use input on how it would work. Thanks, Casey |

If you get us a reasonable quote, I would be up for sending a deposit to cover materials. Lou |

Will do. I'm going to plan on 4 sets of parts right now. I think 5 people, including me, have expressed interest, but only Dart270 and Killer6 have expressed interest recently. That will give me one extra set if there is a late bloomer. |

Depending on the cost, I would be interested as well. Being now retired, got to budget for my play time. |

I'm very interested in this also, I'd be willing to invest to help and I know they will be in high demand once you get it dialed in. Hit me up on here or a PM if this is still a go! Marty |
