Ron and Rodney both pulled a fast one and added weight to their cars to set 1/4 mile records for the same heavier weight class. Both broke the existing record earning 20 bonus points each, with Ron now holding the record. Tickets will be sent to Seymour tomorrow. Race one line up: Rodney Hargis vs Lou Madsen Ron Hamby vs Tom Kagarise Rick Cobalt vs Timmy Charapich Greg Ondayko vs Brian Droschak Ryan Cobalt vs Andrew Shank Please excuse my spelling if I misspelled your name, trying to read Rick's chicken scratch. |

Ron vs Tom. Tom had trouble staging and rolled in to far send Ron to round two. Rodney vs Lou. Lou killed Rodney at the tree, but Lou's car was cold and cranky and wouldn't corporate. Rodney lifted just to be on the safe side but was able to hold on for the win. Ryan vs Andrew. Ryan beat Andrew at the tree, and beat him to the line, with Andrew breaking out at the end. Greg vs Brian. I have no clue what happened there as I can't find either driver, Greg won Ron, Ryan, Rodney and Greg move on to continue slugging it out for the Championship, with Rick in the mix just to make it interesting. Rodney, Ron and Greg all have to win round 2 to advance, Ryan has to win 3 rounds to advance. |

Rodney vs Rick. Rick red lite sending Rodney on to the semifinals and a bye run. Ryan vs Greg. Rick's car did what it loves to do causing Ryan to red, sending Greg on to meet Ron in the semifinals. Ron bye run |

Ron's car has progressively slowed down each round coming into this round. After the last round Ron and Kay could be found under the hood trying to figure out what is going on with it. Ron vs Greg. Ron beat Greg at the tree then proceed run .01 off his Dail in for the win. Rodney has the bye run. Ron and Rodney will face off in the finals. |

Yes, a very busy day of racing. Congratulations to Rodney and Denny for their wins! And a big congrats to Rodney for earning enough points to be the National Champion!! Of course we will need confirmation on the records from Seymour, and official point tabulations form Rob. But by our count today Rodney ended with 250 points and Ron had 240. More to follow tommorow. So, if I followed the updates correctly... Here's what I believe are the correct points for the weekend: #1: Rodney Hargis - 45 Ron Hamby - 35 Greg Ondayko - 25 Rick Covalt - 15 Ryan Covalt - 15 Lou Madsen - 5 Tom Kagarise - 5 Tim Charapich - 5 Brian Droschak - 5 Andrew Shank - 5 #2: Denny Covalt - 45 Ryan Covalt - 35 Brian Droschak - 25 Greg Ondayko - 10 Tim Charapich - 10 Ron Hamby - 5 Rodney Hargis - 5 Rick Covalt - 5 Andrew Shank - 0 Lou Madsen - 0 (Racers that were at the track Saturday and got rained out get 5 attendance points for both Race #1 and Race #2. All others were only there Sunday and ran both races on the same day, so they just get 5 total attendance points) I'm not adding any record points for anyone until Seymour confirms them. Let me know if this is correct and I will update the Championship points. We still have the final race at Tulsa, OK to run. |

Those points are correct except you need to add 5 attendance points for the people who came to the track to race on Saturday which was rained out. Rodney Hargis Ron Hamby Ryan Covalt Brian Droschak Rick Covalt |
