Never mind, I found the old thread about it being a hoax.

I bet you would be shocked at how much Howard has in his head
I'm pretty sure that head or car does not exist!  Ain't been to a Slant 6 race in how many years? Come on,I think it is all a photoshop deal!!

Maybe Clay City in September????
I had kinda given up on Howard ever making it to a Slant 6 race, but now that I'm back in Kentucky I'll plan another trip to go pester him again. This time I'll take Cookie with me and threaten to leave him there with a Howard unless he promises to make it to a race. That should be enough to scare him into coming. 😉

That hemi head might have been a fake but somebody went to a great deal of work to show us what a high performance head for a slant might look like. That picture is a classic!

no offense, but there never was an I6 Chrysler Hemi head,
hence the photo is a photo-shop,, that engine never existed and if it did, just means the proprietor was not computer literate as a photo shop would be a whole lot easier than JB Welding parts together.

Bottom Line,,, today, just because you saw a photo, it does not make it real,,
For the technology challenged, life today is very much like it was to the native American Indian's in the 1860's, and you can see where trusting got them.
Be careful.

Meanwhile, we can get bare Magnum V8 heads for $311 from Jegs. My gut tells me that the slant six could get a reasonably priced aftermarket head if more people were building these cars. If 1 percent of the original 12 million slant sixes were candidates for a new head, then we'd probably have a decent case to make.

The Aussie "Hemi" 6 is neither a Hemi nor a Slant. It's closer to a 300 Ford than Slant.

The chamber is a midified wedge.

The Aussie Hemi 6 factory head is a decent thing. But the Hemi name was a pretty liberal take on the chamber design,no doubt created by the marketing gurus of the day. Then again, calling the factory head a wedge is fairly creative too. There's virtually no quench,it's similar to a Cleveland open chamber design with slightly canted valves. The CHI Hemi 6 head does indeed have a modern quench design chamber.
