Everyone has their own approach to things. I've picked up a few little tidbits worth considering... others I dismiss... I did start watching the 12 part novice rebuild series, but kinda gave up on it. I did get to the one where he briefly mentions the Forum and one of our members though... I know where folks get the idea he ain't a fan now... Hilarious!

There are a few nuggets there, but there are many errors and oversimplifications so it is hard for me to watch. His delivery and filming is quite nice, so I can see why this is popular. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with for the cam. Are there any dragstrip numbers? If anyone has seen any, I would be interested. Lou |

I have never seen any ETs posted. I know he has a presence on Facebook but I got off of that so I don't know if there is anything out there. What I have deduced from what I have seen is that the initial build with a pretty mild engine didn't meet expectations so this one is a more serious effort. I do like his low-buck style and enjoy seeing how he approaches the slant six. When my sons were wrestling they an opportunity to attend some practices with Beasey Hendrix who was a sports psychologist to the US Olympic team and Beasey said you should go from flower to flower picking knowledge. I think there is some knowledge in Uncle Tony's Garage. I have picked from many flowers here.

Nice point about the flower picking, DrGonzo. I am not saying there is no knowledge there, but it can be hard for an uninitiated person to know what to believe what not to believe. I actually did enjoy watching a couple of the videos. The gasoline squirt bottle is a hoot. I suspect we will not see any ETs... Lou |

A bee buzzing flower to flower only works when each flower has something of substance to offer. I recognize ‘something of substance’ as reaching a final at a slantsix.org race. And I have doubts that “What is he smoking Tony” will ever do that. True Mastory and having right to tell others how to build a Slant would come after becoming a series Champion. I think that there is a difference between being an accomplished video camera user and being a race Champion. |

I know I had to trim a lot off the front of my slant six tray to fit it to the front of the early oil pan. I've learned from your posts. |

UTG says this is a budget car, and it shows. He's not trying to break any records but to show what can be done without spending much money. He's got a business to run, he seems to be taking a lot of time to make his popular videos, hope that works out. |

Well, as I said in my re-introduction, I've been away for a while. Just skimming & catching up with topics of interest as going about beginning serious work on the AZDart. First, delighted to see SSD is still at his acerbic ol' self. I find "Uncle Tony" to be entertaining and mostly harmless. For the real, true facts, the folks here have years of experience that Tony doesn't claim. For now, it's just getting the AZDart up and running. First , getting the stock Carter BBS past a little "bog" right off idle to get it street worthy. Then some body work and rust control, then the ongoing "fun part" involving things lie head shaving, valve work, Dutra Duals, like that... Be seein' ya! BC |
