I plan to build a little more HP in the engine.
Not that I need to run 85 on these crappy roads.

You think your roads are crappy?

I don't think you have ever been to western PA, with the state wasting time and money here re-McAdaming over the potholes from last winter, every year.

It used to be you could tell when you crossed the border from Illinois to Indiana because the roads got better. It's no longer true. Indiana roads are just as bad as ours now.

When Caroline and I road out to Mt. Rushmore a few years ago we went through Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The only state with good roads was South Dakota.

I thought I would post some progress on the Lite.
Since the last posts, I have become a first time Grandfather.
So I am now a 70 year old Granddad.
At least it was before I died!

The drivers side glass was wasted from where the palm tree grew while it sunk into the ground.
You can't find new clear glass.
So I had to buy all new tinted glass.
I got the rear pop out windows changed and the gaskets replaced.
Sound proofing on the roof and rear floor boards.
New ABS headliner.
New door cards.
Front seat recovered.
New dash pad.
New door weatherstrips.
Door hinges rebuilt.
Patched the front floor boards with some small patches.
Steering column rebuilt.
New fuel tank.
Replaced all the rear carpet around the fold down rear seat.
Engine, except head, back from machine shop.
Block decked, .060 bore, polished crank.
Oregon 346 cam back with refaced lifters.
Mopar 2 barrel intake and progressive 2 barrel Holley 350.
Remained 10 inch clutch pressure plate.
Those are the big items, there are a million small details.

Sounds like sweet progress, Stan! Keep at it. I'm sure it'll be a beauty and a smooth and strong runner when you're done.

My duster has that setup. 85 is easy. It starts to get windy north of 95, and a stockish engine runs out of torque. My engine is not stock. It has more compression and MPEFI. with improved head and valves, higher compression. Still has the 1979 "Super Six" camshaft, however. It will pull in O/D uphill sometimes if the grade permits it.

Nice Stan.

You have done a lot there.
Will this be a city and neighborhood cruiser when you are done with it?
