Sounds like par for the course after the car sits for a while and you (like me) forget what you were doing last time you were into it. Hope you get in and have fun at t'n't Wed!

Thanks John. Unfortunately, 41 already called it for rain today. Fingers crossed for Friday night. 41 added a Box/No Box race for Saturday, hopefully the rain goes away.

My buddy Keith Long came over today and rode down to 41with me. Made 2 passes. Car goes up on the 4000 chip in the brake now. 60' were 1.826 and 1.838. Car went 13.32 and .22 both at 99. It was pretty muggy first pass and I think it's jetted a little fat. It had cooled off some before the 2nd pass, so I'm fairly certain it's fat.

Supposed to be cooler tomorrow for the bracket race so I'm leaving it alone.

This was the first outing with the new Teig steering upgrade. I drove it up to tech and around the pits for awhile. It steers much better and the turning radius is now more car than buslike. It will also back up without flopping the wheels around.

Nice datapoints, Dennis. Glad the steering worked out. Bet you can hit the 12s at some point on the motor...

When I still had the big header on it I got it to 12:92. It wouldn't 60' for crap though. I think with some decent air I can get close wigh the Cliffords on it.

Running 1/8 mile today. Went 8:39 and 8:35 both at 82. Tailwind kicked up after the 1st run and seems to be getting stronger. 60' on both runs was 1.83. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Went out 2nd round. Made a good pass, but the other guy's was gooder. Got welded at the tree (.026 to his .006) then gave up another .02 downtrack. At least I didn't look like a total Goober. I saw some old friends, met some new ones, and the car went on the trailer under it's own power. It was a good day.

Since my last post I went to Charleston for the $5K race. No luck there, car spun on the first time run, ran ok on the second. Again, ran into a buzzsaw in the 1st round. Guy treed me .002, but ran dead-on with a 6. My car picked up .03 out of nowhere in the 60', and I broke out by a ton.

At the Big Bucks at 41 the car was flawless, driver sucked.

I am planning on changing gears in the car to get it off the line a little better. I thought about it last night. The car is printing timeslips and I want to change it before the next big money race? I must have whacked my head pretty good sometime.

Hey, it's fun to change things! OK, maybe not differentials. I never liked changing those, even when I was a young man.
Keep plugging, you'll get there. You're doing a lot more than I am. I should at least go to a test and tune. Sure is hot here, 97 right now.

It was in the high 80s at Coles County and mid 90s at 41. It's just no fun when it is that hot.

Since I am done for the year and it's getting cold, went to the shop and drained the water out of it. Been putting my 4.86 pig together so it will be ready for next year. I seem to be doing 1/8 mile only, so I might even try my 5.38's next year.

Biggest thing on the list is it's definitely time for a new trailer. I bought mine used 16 years ago, it was 15 when I bought it, and it has to sit outside so it is just wore out.
