I stopped by the storage unit briefly yesterday to grab the slicks for the Duster and a couple other things. I checked that leak and it's dry. Probably because the water immediately evaporates in that "climate controlled" oven that is well over 100* on a 90* day. Still,... I'm on the right track and will re-engage after the Wilkesboro race. Howard Davis is still waiting patiently and gives me a friendly nudge from time to time... |

I managed to fiddle on the Challenger a little bit last night. I think I fixed the water leak at the upper rearmost exhaust/intake stud and got the water pump working. It was just a blown fuse. The starter button clicks, but won't turn the engine, so I need to figure that out. Most of the wires used for everything are red, so it makes tracing wires a little more tricky. Getting closer... |

Thats a good thing! That way when you have to fix 8 or 10 different wires all you need a a 250' roll of red wire! problem solved. |

It's a race car, how many wires can there be? |

Hey Norm, I am hoping for a Clay City debut. I am ready to take it up to Howard's, but he is busy with his own racing until after Clay City. I am going to reach out to a couple local guys at Quinn's chassis shop and Competition Automotive Machine to help me with the first start up. They are familiar with all the bamboozler stuff, just not Slant 6... |

I drove up to Howard's last night after work to pick up a set of tubes for the slicks and Lou's head studs. We visited for about an hour or so. I ordered a new harness set from Quinn's and will be heading over there soon to pick them up and drop off the hood to have him put the cowl induction scoop on it. Also swinging by CAM to have the slicks and tubes mounted. Baby steps... |

Really good guys at both Competition Automotive Machine and Quinn's Chassis Shop in Brandenburg, KY. I went out there at lunch today to ask for some help with the initial start up of the Challenger. They are more than willing to help a noobie and help ensure I don't do too much damage to myself or the car. Quinn even offered the use of his chassis dyno for the initial run in and to make a couple pulls, cut open the oil filter afterwards, etc. Nice guys! Looking at next week to tow it out there... Fingers crossed! |

It didn't work out to get the Challenger fired up this week. The Big Dogs were kinda busy and a little short handed. After the Knoxville race this weekend I will re-engage with them. If all else fails, I'll just pour some moonshine in it & hit the switch. See what happens! |

We took the Duster to Ohio Valley for test & tune last night. While I was there I got 15 gallons of moonshine for the Challenger. I'm about to call the Big Dogs again. |
