Thanks Rick. Would have liked to get a couple more passes, but time was not on our side.

41 posted on FB today that the winner of the Big Tire race crashed in the shutdown, but at least missed the other car. He wasn't hurt.

It was good Seeing you in MO yesterday.. Too bad about that red bulb for ya.

I wish I could have actually seen the 'ol buzzin half duzzin run.. I was too busy doing other drag race stuff.

Maybe we shoulda had a '68 Valiant Slant 6 match race?

Unfortunately for me, I spent too much time visiting with old friends and didn't get my butt in line for more time runs.

Going to try to get to 41 Wednesday night for a little T&T. Those were my first 2 hits on a full tree this year, and only my 3rd and 4th passes.

IF my work schedule stays on track I should be off for Clay City next year. Maybe then on a match race.

Decisions, decisions. I was at the shop today looking over my selection of spare bullets for the car. I want more steam under the hood for next year.

My choices:

1. My old Slantzilla motor that's sitting in the Daytona. It's pretty much change the oil pan and drop it in. I think it should run a couple tenths better than Old #1 that's currently in the car.

2. I have the last shortblock Mike had in the car. (Greg got the head) it's +.100" over, 12:1 with aluminum rods. I have a good head Mike did before he retired. I think on gas it should go 12:20's or so.

3. I have a +.100" over block with my forged 9:1 nitrous pistons. Don't really want to spray, but I can take .060" off the block and be over 11:1. I'd have to come up with a camshaft, and I have 0 clue what it would run.

Any thoughts?

Looks like #2 is a no brainer to me!

Hemi? What am I, a Rockefeller?

Rick, logic would dictate that. But I'm not Mr. Spock either.

#2 seems the most logical to me, but I am probably one of the least logical Slant 6 people, so… YMMV.

Charlie’s gonna race a pig block Cougar!

It weighs 2350 w/o my fat azz in it. Mike spent a LOT of time and money on getting it light.

So I take it that the existing combo is maxed out?

More like wore out. The motor in the car is the original motor Mike built for the car. It sat under his work bench for at least 15 years. I think it's just time for a new bullet.
