I've written off this weekend to try to heal up for next weekend. John is coming up then so I will have help at the track.

Biggest thing is I need to get a lighter generator. I just can't load and unload my old Generac by myself anymore.

In the meantime I did get the car in the garage today and finally removed Mike's number. I will put mine on tomorrow.

Caught a break. With the crap weekend weather forecast 41 cancelled the Twin $10K race.

Bill is coming down Saturday and we'll finish up a few odds and ends on the car and be ready go rock.

Finally got out to 41 today for a Test and Tune. Made a couple passes and decided I need more practice.

My buddy Randy Frederick was there with his daughter Jordan and her boyfriend Rick. She had expressed interest in driving the car last year so I spent some time getting her familiar with the car. I let her drive it around the pits for awhile, then we headed for the lanes.

We did without the burnout for now. I also had her footbrake it, and turned the shift light down to 4900.

First pass she ended up with a 15.0@76. She lifted before the finish line, and that was fine.

Got her another pass and she pretty much ran it to the end. That netted a 14:50@91.

I've known Randy 40+ years. We used to race together all the time. I've known Jordan since she was born. I'm hoping this will get Randy back in it helping his girl.

I bought the car from Mike with the intention of having fun. Today was proof of that.

Very cool Dennis!

I enjoy letting other people drive my stuff too. Especially getting new people into the hobby.

Yeah, very cool, Dennis! I am hoping to get Liz and/or Katie interested in driving my cars when they get a little older...

I was on my way to 41 this morning and got diverted to work. Fortunately I was only there for an hour or so.

Ventured on to 41. Stopped for gas and had a woman stop her car and run over to inspect the Valiant.

Might have to rethink running pump gas. 93 was $6.15 a gallon today.

Still trying to get used to the new long travel button. Made 4 1/8 mile passes with a best of 8:40 all at 82 mph.

Hung it out on the last pass and ran it out the 1/4. 8:36 @ 83 1/8 mile, 13:24@98 1/4 mile.

Next weekend is points racing.

Since I let Jordan drive the car last weekend Teresa told me today she is driving next time I test.

Wow. I spent the weekend at a motorcycle safety class that was held at the small airport by that Love's truck stop you and I have met up at a couple of times, and av gas prices were posted in the terminal, and it was "only" 20 cents more than you paid for 93. I dunno if they'll sell to someone for their car or not, didn't ask. At those prices 20 cents ain't much.
That said premium here at a regular station is close to what 87 was in your town last Monday when I had to go to the mother in law's.
And down by work it was cheaper than here, as of last Friday 87 hadn't hit $5 yet....well it did for a day (Thurs) and back to $4.85 Friday. I hate to see what it will be today when I get there.

Sounds like a nice day, Dennis. Bet Teresa will enjoy the runs... I got out with Victoria and drove the turbo car a few times this weekend - glorious. Juiced it a few times.

Went out yesterday for the points race. Got 1 time run and it was horrid. Car will usually run 845-8.48 off the trailer. It went 8.59 and was off almost a tenth in the 60. Still trying to get used to the fancy new trans brake button too, went -.011 red.

Went up for the first round dialed 8.49. Drew a 6.90 Camaro. Let go of the button and the tree came up green. Car felt decent and at the end I was out on the guy so I hossed the gas one time on him. Should have just lifted, went 8.483.

All in all, still a fun day. Buddy I used to work with brought his 3 kids over. Good times.

Yes, it was good. Think I'm done until the Twin $10K race in July.

Got an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon Wednesday. Hopefully we can accomplish something with my knees.
