OK....Lets figure this out. This set up does use a lot of fuel, 1.5 gallon fuel cell may not be enough,
especially if you are in a round robin situation.
Can you send me a picture of the setup?
I assuming that the oil is very milky.
Did you disassemble every thing and clean it? Methanol tends to clog things up, check the air ports (filters)on the
nozzles.
1 do the nozzles have the jets in them?
2. is it the correct pump, If I remember there were 2 floating around. Should be "0" I think.
3.by pass hose correctly sized.

Thanks Will!

Aaron Sipple that owns and runs the track took time today from running this event to come over and look everything over for me. He adjusted it and we got it running, but then the idle was very inconsistent.

He thinks I either have a loose fitting in the fuel line somewhere allowing it to suck air or the old vane fuel pump is dying. Chase is bringing some larger wrenches so I can tighten everything up real good and we’ll see how it goes.

So there I was....

I fired up the Challenger and everything checked out okay. Good idle, throttle, no leaks... Yes! :D

I figured I’d even drive it up onto the trailer for test & tune instead of using the winch... Oh yeah!...

Then it changed its mind again and ran like doo doo, idled too high, wouldn’t rev...

Pulled all the nozzles. One had a little crud, but nothing bad.

Still the same. And you can hear it sort of “sizzling” through the intake while it cools back down.

I’m gonna put it away again and pull the old faithful Duster from out back for the race at London next weekend.

I replaced the fuel pump and went through all the lines and filters again. Too late to fire it up, so I’ll try it tomorrow. I pulled the spark plugs... I’ll put new ones in as well.

Goodnight Gracie...

Not to be a dick, but I'm kinda happy you talked me into selling that setup back to you.

Thanks Dennis! You probably still have that 55 gallon drum of methanol sitting there too, huh?

Can I have that back to try next...?

I was tempted to run out to Ohio Valley tonight. No sense in rushing to failure though... again.

Well,... I'm at least on the right track (race track that is... )

I found the water pump I needed at Tractor Supply Company and got it put in in time to make it to Ohio Valley for a couple hours last night.

First pass I left soft foot braking and it bogged and sputtered off the line and for the first 60+ feet. It cleared up down track. At least it was faster than the first pass a few weeks ago... 8.74 @ 83 MPH

All looked good, so I made a second pass. Burnout was not great. Not enough water down or something. The line loc doesn't hold the car very well or I'm just not used to it yet... I used the transbrake this time, but I didn't have the RPMs up all the way onto the two step. The transbrake didn't release when I let go of the button, so I let off the throttle and hit it again. Then it left, so -so... I didn't even look at the delay box. There is proably some delay programmed in it from way back when... 8.25 @ 84 MPH...

I really wanted to at least get into the 7s, but I didn't have time for a third pass. I'm getting there, slowly...
