I just have to decide what I want now. I'd like to get it ordered by friday. I am thinking about a dual pattern with 210 & 218 @.050". I am not decided about the lobe centers, maybe 112. Something with a smooth and broad torque curve that will still pull near 4800 rpm. I don't see a lobe between the 210 & 218 or I might try that for the intake and the 220 for the exhaust. Not to change the subject but has anyone worked with mild dual profiles like this? Thanks for making the effort to put this together.

What are the benifits of a dual pattern cam? I definatly want to get in on this, anyone want to help me with cam specs that will be good for me?

The car is a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport Lite

225 Slant
A-833 o.d
3.55 or 3.91 gears

This is going to be a daily driver. I am going to have the head ported/polished with oversized valves 9.5 or 10 to 1 comp (needs to run on 91) Clifford intake and 500-600 CFM carb, and clifford headers into single 2 1/4 exhaust.

I want a cam that will be good for daily driving, and make use of all of the head work a bigger carb. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hey guys,

I'm glad so many folks are excited and ready to order. I'm happy we could make a good inroad with Erson, and they seem ready to help us at a good price.

As for cam recommendations, there are so many factors involved including your head work, compression ratio, valve size, etc. BUT, I am attempting to assemble some profiles in DesktopDyno for a few cams, assuming a stock head, and maybe a modified head. I've not used the program extensively, so if there is someone out there that has, I'd love to hear from you.

In the end, if you get something custom, talk to as many folks as you can if you're not sure what to get. There are many folks that can give you a good idea or ballpark estimate.

Dennis.....I was ringing his phone as he was finalizing your order.

Ordered two....a stock 220 grind, and a dual pattern 220 intake and 230 exhaust on 108 C/L. Spent a bit more than I had originally intended, but do have plans for both cams.

Y'all need to jump on this.....it's hard enough to get slant performance parts as it is.

Again......Many thanks to NewLancerMan for setting this up!!

Dennis, and Roger, glad you found Tom easy to deal with. I was really pleasantly surprised how willing he was to help out the slant community. The fact they will have an open deal for us is welcome news indeed!

I want to re-iterate: Your card will not be charged until they ship, you are simply committing to buying the camshaft and they will charge your card when it ships.

Dennis, did he quote you a price for lifters? He didn't have them yesterday so I'd just like to update our price list again.

Just placed an order for 2 cams and a set of lifters. The lifters were 34.56.

Great work setting up this group buy. Tom seemed surprised with how popular this already was. He said I was the 5th person to place an order today, most for more than 1 cam!

Has anyone bought the springs and retainers yet?
Just wondering how much the double spring and retainers are.

Yep, springs are about $45, and retainers are $32 from what I recall from the conversation I had this afternoon. I was in the car, so I didn't write it down, but I am pretty sure that's a close number

I just ordered a cam. I ordered the .435 lift 254 duration. I hope the rest of my engine project goes as smoothly as the cam buy. He said I was about the eighth one to order so there are plenty left.

I called Tom to order a single pattern 286/242/.510 ground on a 108 LSA.
I asked if a 106 LSA might be better for my combo. He suggested a different lobe, so I ordered a 282/246/.510 on a 106 LSA. That will give me 4* more at .050 and 4* less at advertised. I'll put it in a 106, then later maybe try 4* advance to see if my combo likes it. I also went with the Erson springs, retainers, locks and Moly lube, I have some new lifters.

Thats for the trouble and effort you made MJ.

BTW, Tom built a '64 Valiant for his wife. Clifford headers and intake, 390 Holley, 220 Erson cam, 2.94 gear with 2200 stall convertor.
