Sweet! That's really moving. So remind me, what's inside the motor and head? |

Thanks guys! Feels good to get things to work out. The head just has a bowl port and stainless 1.70 / 1.44 valves. No cut, no gasket match. Standard bore, self honed swather block w/ used forged pistons and rings from the 170ci. I did degree the cam in to a 101.5* centerline. 110* recommended on the small turbo Erson cam. Shaker, How you doing with your project? |

Very nice work. Good 60 ft considering the small tires in your pics. What does the car weigh with driver? Lou |

The new motor is progressing nicely - the head is done, pistons are in, new PTE 6262 turbo, cam is in, Only need the rods, build a header and machine work.Other than that, I'm enjoying the summer and driving my cars. |

Hey, you really know how to get things done. Two weeks ago you were looking at building a new short block and repairing two bent valves. Now you are showing us elevens! Nice job. I bet that 1.60 sixty foot feels a lot better than 3 seconds plus. If you are planning to race the weekend of 8/30-31 I will try to get out there and see this monster. Don't blow it up before then! |

Thanks Lou, Tires are 26x8.5x14 ET drags. They seem to be holding fine. The rear does jump sometimes like the axle is twisting. I'll have to check that. Car is 2950 lbs with me and fuel. Shaker - you gunna have the car done befor the snow flies? How much boost can the PTE 6262 build efficiently? Seymour, it does feel much better. I'm going to be there on the 31st. The plan is not to blow it up but, anything can happen. I figure if I can keep it under 5500 revs, the original rods and mains will be just fine We rent two spots on the front row. Only use one when the camper isn't there. It would be awesome to put two slants together there. Mine is the first slant ever to race at Oahe. Maybe a grudge race for the crowd. Later. |

[quote="turbo66valiant"] Shaker - you gunna have the car done befor the snow flies? How much boost can the PTE 6262 build efficiently?quote] Probably won't have it ready by winter. The rods are probably still way over a month away. The 6262 should build boost up to 25psi efficiently. It is a dual ball bearing & water cooled model with a .63 a/r. I wanted something to leave a little soft (4-5psi) and then come on hard once I start moving. |

Went racing again today. I backed the timing down and ran a 12.00 at 110 mph running alittle lean. It pulled a 1.65 60 ft though, my best. On the second run, the nut on the turbine wheel backed off and messed up the turbine. Its getting sent to G-Pop shop tomorrow to get worked over. Ordered bigger meth jets about 2 weeks ago and they haven't shown up yet. Maybe next time. Later |

The Valiant is leaving between 18-20 psi
