In light of the fact that I tore up my trailer last weekend, I will probably be there w/o a car. :(

Outside chance I'll get it fixed next weekend and at least get a car home to get running.

I am still planning on this trip!! Dennis, I hope you can bring a car, but being there will be more than half the fun.

Anyone from the West coast coming???

Cheers,

Lou

I believe there is a Pizza Hut in Kearney too Lou.

I know for sure there is one in Lexington. Since I gotta run Saturday night, maybe we can do Pizza Hut on Friday night.

Definitely have to do the Pizza Hut, and Friday sounds good.

See you soon!

Well, after battling with my inner conscience, I will have to skip the first annual, (I hope), Kearney race.
See, August 15th happens to be my wedding anniversary, and it only seems right that I'm here to share it with my wife.

As much as I'd like to be there.......sorry, guys.

I have deserted my wife on many anniversaries, as I will on this one - Aug. 13.

I'm nice to her all the time, so that makes up for it...

I would like to show up but I cant find anyone in the west that is going besides Glen Terry. If the car count doesnt pick up i will have to skip it.

Precisely why I am doing roll call. 3 slants is hardly worth the money to make the trip :(

The grand I would spend driving, racing, sleeping, eating, fixing would be better spent on the car.

Come on guys!!! It's the closest thing to the center of the U.S.!!!!!!!!

There are quite a few Midwest racers coming, which should be incentive enough, although I hope West and East folks will also come. If you have not met a wily group of Slant Sixers in the flesh, you've hardly lived...

I got a call from Mike Evans in IA last night and he is all fired up and is coming for sure.

Here is who I have so far:

Mike Evans
Mike Jeffrey
Seymour Pederson
Dennis Schumers
Lou
Chris CARS
turbo66valiant
Sergio
Glen Terry
Mark Goodman
Frank and Cinda Brent

Who am I forgetting?

Can any of these Texans get their act together??

Tune in next time, when...

If I can, I will try to bring two cars, but we'll see...

If all goes according to plan I will have the red car home this weekend and hopefully have it straightened out in time to get out and make a few hits before Kearney.

I'm pulling the nitrous and stuff off of it and will be running it as a footbrake car to see if just maybe I can impersonate a racer.

Act? Yes! Car? No. Money? No...

I'm CRUSHED to miss the race and let you guys down, but the wife still hasn't found a job, and we're barely keeping our heads above water. In fact, we're going further and further into debt every month.

Even if I could scrape together gas money and camp, I'd be in the '07 Mazda, and who wants to see that?

<sigh.> Just shooting for next year... Sorry, guys.

OK, Vince, you have very valid reasons there. Don't feel guilty. We'll be sorry to miss you and will try for next year...

Hey, I still owe you a t-shirt (two??), so PM/email me your address and I'll get it to you.

OK, trailer got a new bootie this morning, and the red car is now home. It fired right up this morning at the shop and idled pretty good. Started it up on the trailer here and it went back to it's old shenanigans. Time to take the carb apart and clean it out.

Truck is throwing a code for the trans now. It seems to be something with the converter lockup. Supposed to get together with my trans guy next weekend to see if we can figure it out.

Full garage:
