Wayne was busy building his own alloy head yesterday. He was nice enough to send me a spy photo. He said he will build one for anyone for $1500 cash money.

perhaps build it with a warped gasket face to match the Offy valve covers!
That head looks like came from a movie set about Area 51 !!

Hey SlantSteve! I am not an employee of Offy. I have however tried to get parts That I have wanted (and others) into the hands of board members - at a savings. The only special treatment I have gotten from Dan Marvin is extra Offy stickers for the man space and pics of his Grandad(also for the man space- he designed both Offy intakes for the slant). I can also get a 5% discount if I ask - which I did for a new member who needed an intake.

I spent hours on two group buys to try to get the best prices for the slant community. I can't offer 30 plus years of racing experience like Zilla and others. I can't donate tons of money to the site - although I have given in the past. My group buys were to help and give back to the forum.

I will however call Dan Marvin tomorrow and tell him about your concerns. I will ask him to PM you personally. Sorry, I will not select a laughing smiley face to end this post.

One last thing - Did you buy one?

Did I buy one? In a word,no. I sent an email to the supplier..Exeter auto ?? when the buy was on to place and order and didn't get a response.I was going to call them but being in Australia and time changes I just never got around to it. I have purchased an offy intake since then from another supplier and am happy with the quality..My comments about the warping is based on a few topics that were posted on the subject,it seems like many have had issues with the new run of covers, having to double up gaskets, welding in baffles etc..mention of .250" gasket face warping was mentioned in some posts such as this here After reading these posts I wasn't so disappointed I missed ordering one.
I'm sure you have done a lot of work to organise the group buys and I truly commend your efforts as no doubt many others do.I will be interested to hear what the outcome of your enquiries will be. I'm sure once again your efforts will be appreciated by others.
So for the record I do own other Offy products and they seem well done. By all means pm me if you wish, but I think a post for all interested parties to read may be useful since many others would also like to hear the outcome of the warping issues. If in the future the concerns I listed above are resolved I may well place an order. Being overseas I tend to rely on feedback on sites like this before I purchase parts,so I would love to hear this issue has been resolved
