I don't watch any car shows or read any car magazines. A waste of money and time in my opinion, mostly for the reasons you don't watch Overhaulin'.

I'm not against customization, but I also don't like pointless destruction and disrespect for how things used to be built.

BTW, there are a whole bunch of NEW automobile and motorcycle shows on the horizon.

Hmmm. Looks like a mounting bracket for vertical blinds or heavy curtains.

Either way, NICE WORK! I really like your solution to the timing tab problem.

If you still have access to the stock timing tab, you could put a piece of cardboard next to it and copy the spacing of the stock degree indicators and then transfer it over to your new tab.

I got my piston stop tool from Jegs. I think it cost me about $8 a few years back. Check them out.

Well, if you don't have a TV, how are you supposed to get properly programmed?

Alas, it would take removing the Radiator to do that.

Check amazon for the piston stop tool. Might be able to get free shipping if you buy some other stuff............

I made one out of an old sparkplug, breakout the center material run the tap in the hole put a long bolt in and your done. Price is right also! Richard

The tape is flat and the tab is curved, so there starts to be some distortion after about 4 degrees, but I think 1/8 inch to 2 degrees is good enough for government work.

Here a few years back, Ms. American had the occasion to have her Exhaust Bolt Holes chased out with a 3/8" Tap. If that Tap can be found, am going to see if a Piston Stop Tool can be made out of one of Lorries OLD Champion 11 Spark Plugs. Will let you know how THAT goes. Anyway, thanks for the compliment. JC

Not to steal the thread, but "They Live" is an awesome movie from John Carpenter's run of awesome movies in the 80s. I remember seeing it in the theater and loving it. And it has a good moral too.

The 4 and the 6 are centered on the TDC or 0 line. Looks like 1/8 inch = 2 degrees. The tape is flat and the tab is curved, so there starts to be some distortion after about 4 degrees, but I think 1/8 inch to 2 degrees is good enough for government work.

Hey Mr. E, Have decided to MAKE one out of one of Lorrie's OLD Champion Spark Plugs. Have been looking for the Taps that are here somewhere. Thought they were in the box with all the Drill Bits, but that proved to be mistaken. BUT, will be getting out tomorrow morning, and it would be just as inexpensive to buy a 3/8" Tap at the Hardware Store. Heck, if I got to going on these, I have a whole BUNCH of different Spark Plugs around here. Might just make up a BUNCH of them. Anyway, thanks for the response. JC"

Have never done any violence to a Spark Plug. Is the hole in the metal part of the Plug big enough to get a 3/8" tap through? Or does one have to drill it first? Have had others say what you have written, but they also include using the a Bench Grinder to round off the end of the Long Bolt. Will let you know how this goes. JC
